Hello All,
my "new to me" Kingfish has a minor water in the fuel issue from sitting for 2 years. I was able to motor it the 4 hrs needed to move it from port to port but went thru 5 filters in the process. Dumping the filters I found a bit of water and algae in each one...
I took the boat for another 2 hr run and made it without changing out filter (ran at 3200--3500 whole time)
Decided to pump remainder of tank as gauge said around 1/4... tank is 125 gals. Well the gauge was slightly off and 1/4 turned out to be closer to 1/3 at 45 gals.
Fuel looked clean, I filtered it again and ran thru my old Pickup.
Now... the tank is empty and I wanted to throw something in there, drive around on trailer , tilt boat nose high and pump out then fill back up with fresh gas.
What would you recommend I put in tank to get rid of remaining water / crud? I was thinking the Star Tron Gas Tank cleaner---64 ounces for $35 and treats 250 gallons. Or... do I just go buy a couple gallons of the alcohol for stoves from home depot and do the same thing?
Thanks
Tony
