I need to replace the transom on a 1985 GW Trophy Pro. Looking for advice from anyone that has
something constructive to offer. What is GW using now for transom material?...Port St. Joe, FL
Thanks!

Hi,
http://www.gradywhite.com/the-grady-exp ... omponents/
Info from GW website. They use a composite material. I'm sure they would tell you the brand if you contact customer service via the web.

There was a guy in NJ that did a bunch of GWs. He would do it inside out. Cut the liner, remove the wood and leave the hull in tact. Then build the transom outside in and do the interior glass work. Check out the hull truth. com. I think his name was JAWS.

Check out threads on Onslow Bay boats. He had some build threads out there as well. They use a composite material as well.

I'm thinking you could even use marine plywood if you wanted. Done right it will outlast the hull.

Good luck....
