Is anyone using this system (GARMIN 010-00705-01 GARMIN GHP COMPACT REACTOR AUTOPILOT STARTER KIT)? It says it is not suggested for use while fishing and trolling at low speeds. What is your experience with it? How difficult are they to install? I have a 7610 and 8212 can I control everything from those units? I am running a 272 Sailfish.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: GARMIN 010-00705-01 GARMIN GHP COMPACT REACTOR AUTOPILOT

If you haven't gotten your autopilot yet here's what I found out for my setup. I emailed Garmin and told them about my setup and they recommended the GHC 20 Reactor hydraulic autopilot with a 1.2 liter pump (010-00705-15 and 010-11098-00). I have a 2006 282 Sailfish with twin F250's and an 8.34 cu in. steering cylinder. They will need all that info if you email or call. They didn't feel the Compact Reactor autopilot was enough pilot for the Sailfish w/twins and that size steering cylinder.
