Hi all-

I recently bought a 2001 208 Adventure that came with gimbal-mounted Scotty Downriggers.

My preference is to have a mounting plate directly on the gunwhale. Only problem, is that the mounting plate hole pattern is a bit wider than the gunwale. The dark holes in the picture are the mounting holes. The outside ones are for the captive nuts that the downrigger bolts to. The mounting holes fall in the radius of the gunwhale.

Curious if anyone else has run into this issue on a smaller Grady White and if you would mind sharing how you tackled the problem.

Thanks,

Mike

Hello Fever, I believe the 2001 and 2006 208 Adventure have the same gunwales size.. I had no issues drilling through and mounting them with a aluminium backing plate. Yes it is a very tight fit but does clear the the sides of the gunwale enough to get a bolt and washer on. Measure carefully, I could send you a photo if that wild help. Cheers, trapper
