Finally got a weekend of reasonable winds so we headed our for red snapper and scamp. We were able to avoid the red tide by heading West about 25 miles down the beach. I had checked the FWC website for their satellite imagery of the red tide. We got lucky going out the pass as our live bait made it. We had a load of pinfish we caught in my trap in the canal. We had a fun trip and everyone caught lots of fish. Sadly we caught 25 nice triggerfish but those are closed, so they had to be released, but we did end up with 6 big red snapper, two scamp, a red grouper and a nice banded rudder fish. Winds picked up from the west in the afternoon so we called it a day.
