I've got a HUGE problem! I have too many fishing rods  Does anyone have the "folding cabin rod rack - 6" from Grady? And If so, worth it or Pain in the ... Have asked dealer to get a price for me. I'm in a 258 Journey.

I saw the ones Capt Bill made and posted. Did anyone use them in a 258? They looked really well done. I'm a woodworker and suppose I could make something, but it's FISHIN TIME!

I don't know if it will work in your Journey, but if you think it will, I have an extra one of the one's I had made.

Do you have the room needed to mount the racks on the port-side cabin wall?

Capt Bill, even if the 2 wide x 3 tall doesn't work, he can shorten's the height for 4 rods instead of 6 (if need be). It ought to work. Can easily saw off the lower two positions. If if too wide, make a vertical cut so it's 1 wide by 3 rods tall.

Jouneyman...I made some for my 265 that work really well See pics in my ad (this is not a plug for my add) in the for sale section

Rod Storage

Hmmm, I was told years ago that one can never have too many fishing rods...anyways, I do have the GW folding, port-side rod holders in my 23' Gulfstream and love them. Hold 6 rods but you can double them up, depending on the setup. Easy to get to, they don't tangle (handle 7' rods easily), easy to store, plus out of sight, out of way in/out of cabin.

Capt Bill - Thanks. I'll send you a PM and we can arrange details.

Conjuror - Beatiful work!

Thanks to all!!!!

Got your PM;let me know if you want that rodrack.

T-bird, I sent you a PM about your hinges. Looking for your source.

Thanks T-bird, I like the look of the white hinges, but I'm going to need something substantial, as I will have 6 off-shore trolling rigs in there. Don't want them to end up in a heap, on the cabin sole. I'm not even sure that I am going to make them hinged, as in all the years I had the other Sailfish, the rod-racks were always full, so never got to fold them flat.

Hi Bill
If you have another set. I am interested.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I have only one set other than the set I am installing in my own boat. Journeyman has first dibs. If he doesn't take them, you're next in line.

Seems that one of the other guys that bought a set posted a while back that he wasn't going to use them, and offered to sell them if anyone was interested. Might be worth perusing that thread to see if it is still available.

I bought a set I do not think I will use. I mounted a TV and the racks will interfear with viewing. I believe they were made for a Sailfish. They would need to be modified as they were too big for the Islander.

New member Tommyboy has a 1992 252, he may not have the rOEM rack option.

Capt Bill
I hang 6 50TW's....
I wanted that to be the “sacrificial” point
If someone fell into them or grabbed
them as a “handrail”.
I picked up a spare set for just such an occasion.
