If by simple you mean simple to use all the current name brand units are pretty good and you can pick a chart that provides the detail you want. Since I have Garmin, I'll recommend their stuff starting with a GPSMap 740. It's already preloaded with a good chart and has a built in fishfinder...
Anybody willing to help get it up and going again? Seems to me, we needed more grass root involvement than we got when Atlantic tried last fall to get it going. Atlantic Marine did a good job, I think potential members set on their hands and it died.
I can see how a smaller wheel might increase effort to turn, but I'm having trouble understanding how it increases the number of revolutions required to turn the motor all the way to either side?
I would try snaking a non sharp small cable or wire through the vent opening on the outside for six inches or so. If you don't find any resistance or blockage, it's not the vent.
Not saying this is an approved method, it just worked for me.
If you don't overnight or use the head often, an easy option is to add a pump deckout to your pp. For my family, this is all we need. Simple to pump out, easier than removing waste tank and carrying to bathroom, and no hassle with the complex plumbing required with a full system.
