    yikes. hopefully you took all necessary steps to prevent an infection. i got hooked once, as a kid. we were pond fishing and my buddy hooked my forearm with his cast. it was a much smaller hook than you got caught on though.

    at the risk of derailing this thread, why does the SKR need highly accurate gps input? i assumed the only gps input to SKR was speed, but also assumed that high accuracy isnt as cruicial for speed as it would be for pitch/roll/yaw and acceleration g's

    a general rule of thumb is to run a straight edge along the keel and mount the engine so that the front of the anti-ventilation plate is 1" above the straight edge for every 1' the engine is behind the transom

    mine is mounted just above my steering wheel (so lower than yours), i have no external antenna and it does fine
