This is all good context & damn good advice: many, many thanks. Will take some pictures regardless as to what I end up doing!

    Fiberglass Repair to Hardtop

@Fishtales - thank you for the input: glad I wasn't crazy for wanting to be sure! PS: I tried the 30 Second cleaner - and you weren't wrong in that the bleach really helped knock off the dingy color! Thank you! @SkunkBoat do you think having the forklift would have helped? It looks as if both...

Some people pay a lot of money to get that punk rock. Appreciate the tip!

    Fiberglass Repair to Hardtop

One other question I meant to ask: did you wear a bunny suit while doing any of it? Did some work on fiberglass boats & installed fiberglass insulation as a younger guy - and I have zero interest in re-living that horror.

    Fiberglass Repair to Hardtop

@seasick Sorry it took me all week to come back & reply: life of the weekend warrior. That said: going to try the 30 Second Cleaner. Graciously - we have the boat in dry dock in a marina where I can pull it around & hose it off for free. As to the paint: I do already have some EXT paint from...

    Fiberglass Repair to Hardtop

Fellow Captains - Good afternoon to you all - once again I'd like some advice. I've seen @Hookup1 give notes on his repair (beautiful) - but wanted his or anyone else who would be willing to chime in on how to best repair the Hardtop. I truly want to get rid of the mold/mildew & get a teal...

    Fuel Filter Water Separator

Fellow Captains - I just wanted to say thanks. Whether you know it or not - being able to come on here with any number of questions & then know that help is coming........is incredible. Thanks to you all - again you have been invaluable to the mission.

    Fuel Filter Water Separator

They're actually Mercury - so I'm wondering if they were ever changed. As for the cowling - I was afraid so. Sigh - worth a shot.

    Fuel Filter Water Separator

Good evening brothers & sisters - Have two questions this evening - one is for this picture & whether it is in fact the water-fuel separator filter I believe it to be: Second question is: how to clean up this cowling. I have a DeWalt buffer courtesy of the wife from xmas - but want advice...

    Boat Cover

We cover it after every usage; and honestly I hadn't thought about having the cover under the t-top - because yes when it folds down the tower does contact the windshield (we use a buoy to act as a gasket).

    Boat Cover

Mine is kept at a storage lot; would you have a picture for reference to see if I could swing it? Also - to answer you: I have twin 2017 Verado 200's!

    Boat Cover

I figured a custom one might be the answer - and I apologize since I should have been more specific: if people have gone with a custom route - who did you use/is there a cost expectation for these things to be wary of....etc... Out here in LA you can get yellowfin almost all year - some folks...

    Boat Cover

Evening all - Wanted some input as I'm seriously considering a cover for the '92 Sailfish. Only catch is there is a tuna tower which does fold down. I reached out to Cover Craft but they aren't sure they have one that will fit - but my hunch is that it might assuming I don't want it to wrap...

    replacement wiper blades

I've been hunting parts for my '92 Sailfish as well. They have a metal 'U' looking bracket that has a threaded hole to attach the blade housing. I actually found the blades at my local Grady dealer - but not the missing 'U' bracket. If anyone has ideas on that - I'll dance at your wedding!

    Rewiring 1984 Tournament 170

Glad you were able to label/assess the bulk of it - I truly feel your pain; it's been tough. Feel free to post some photos of your hard work!!

    Rewiring 1984 Tournament 170

Have been wrestling with this during the off-season; what a nightmare. If you can get ahold of your original diagram (Grady does a good job of archiving them - and your local dealer may still have an original) they are color-coded - though if it's all corroded it might be a blessing in disguise...

You might well be right - and it could also be like buying a new car in that each dealership has their own margins/sales goals. It's tough not working with the factory directly like that.

First - LOVE the name of your boat: absolutely well done. You're not a Warhammer 40K fan are you?? Second - the cleaning intel is very appreciated: since this has been my primary concern with boating a fish & having it bleed after being gaffed. Appreciate you sharing the experience!!
