    Question for 30' Marlin owners

Is there enough room for a small adult to sleep in the aft cabin under the helm? I'm 5'7". How about 2 small adults? Is there an air conditioning vent back there? Thanks,

    208 Adventure repower options

I had the same boat with a Yamaha F250 V-6. Although the power was great, I felt the weight on the transom adversely affected the way the boat performed. I think the new Yamaha F200 inline 4 cylinder would be the perfect combination of power, and weight for that boat. It's under 500 lbs. Of...

Question for 180 or 185 owners

I am considering purchasing a 180 Center Console, or a Tournament 185 (same hull). Could anyone who owns one of these comment about the self bailing scuppers. If you put 2 people in the back of the boat while the boat is at a dock, or fishing, will the scuppers backwash into the cockpit? Thanks,

    208 Adventure buying advice

I have the 2007 208 for sale on the classifieds page. I cannot imagine the F150 would be enough motor for this boat, especially if you have 3 or 4 people aboard and a full tank of gas. I have the F250 on mine. Is it more horsepower than necessary? Yes, but considering the F200, F225, and F250 of...

222 won't track straight at low rpms

I find my 208 does less wandering if you find the perfect trim angle on the motor at that speed. Try experimenting with the trim.

Grady White 270 Islander with F250 Yamaha

We must be looking a the same boat in Islamorada, FL?? Everything I've read, and folks that I've spoken to say it's under powered. Heck, I have the same F250 on my Adventurer 208! Granted that is more than adequate for the 208, I just think it will be tough to get that 270 on plane if you have...

    2000 Yamaha OX66 -250hp, 1500 hours too much?

I'm looking at a used 2000 model Marlin with twin OX66 250's. The boat is in very good condition but I'm concerned because the engines have 1500 hours on them. Can some OX 66 owners tell me if they've put this many hours or more on their engines?

    Yamaha F225 corrosion. Which years?

Has anyone been able to determine if there are certain year models of Yamaha F225's that have the corrosion issue? I'm shopping for a used Marlin, and would like to know which ones may have this issue. Thanks,

    Help..Marlin Owners fuel burn question

I'm thinking of moving up to a 300 Marlin. I'm looking at older boats around the year 2000 with 250hp 2 stroke Yamahas. Just wondering what the fuel burn would be at cruising speed compared to a newer model with 4 stroke Yamaha 250's. Also, will the Marlin remain comfortably on plane at around...

    What's my 2006 F-250 worth?

I'm thinking about buying the new inline 4 cyl F-200 for my Adventure 208. Nothing wrong with my F-250 with only 425 hours, I just think the boat could benefit a lot with less weight on the transom. Anybody have a clue what my 2006 F-250 might be worth?

    Recommendation for a buffer

What brand of buffer should I buy for compounding and waxing? I'd like to be able to get into tighter spots such as the edges of the walk around on my 208 Adventure. I realize the larger diameter pads are probably better for large flat panels like the hull sides. Recommendations are appreciated!

    Islander or Sailfish? Questions

Do any of you Islander owners have air conditioners installed? How about hot water heaters? Is there room anywhere to mount a small generator? How about on the Sailfish? Same questions above. thanks,

Marine cooler vs using fish box

I've often debated whether to use one of my fish boxes on my 208 verses a cooler. For cruising I store my fenders in the port side fish box behind the seat. I've got cleaning supplies, a bucket, and a hose in the starboard side box. Not sure where I'd relocate any of those items if I used one of...

    hull paint

It's not necessary to paint the bottom with antifouling paint if it will just be sitting in the water overnight. If you plan to leave it in the water for weeks, and longer, then yes. Antifouling paint will slow you down a little, and might possibly be a negative to a future owner when you try to...

208 owners - do you use Sea Sucker Mounts?

I've never had a seasucker mount for an ipod, but I did have one that was a double drink holder. It lasted a couple years, then became unreliable. At first it held very well, but later I couldn't trust it to hold without falling down. This was on smooth fiberglass. Not sure if it would work well...

My 208 With the New F200 I4- Performance # and Pics

That is fantastic news! I think this new F200 I4 is perfect for the 208! I have a 2007 208 with an F250. It's a great engine but I do think it's just too much weight on the stern. My scuppers are just above the waterline, but if you load the boat down with people, they will back wash. 4 people...

What do you guys think of this 185 to purchase?

I love the Tournament 185. This one seems nice. It has a lot of extras like the deluxe seats, shower, trim tabs, trailer, and GPS. With just 16 hours on the engine, Seems like a pretty good deal. Especially if they take a little less than the asking!

    water in fuel question

I have discovered water in the fuel on my 208 Adventure. I have been changing the fuel/water seperator about once every two hours, and also draining the engine mounted filter on my Yam F250. I probably have less than 10 gallons left in the fuel tank. The boat is on the trailer now. Can I...
