    Fuel Tank Dimensions?

Depending where you are located in Canada, I just had to replace the tanks on my sailfish last year and there is a guy in SE Michigan that builds them and I would highly recommend. May be worth the drive to him? Company name is Kehrig Manufacturing, Utica, MI. Good luck...

    Looking for a hardtop...

Hey all, it's been a while since I've posted and since you all helped so much last time I figured I'd try my luck again. I've got an 88 25' sailfish with the trampoline style top. I'm assuming that the frame for this top is the same or close to the same as the frame for the hardtop version...

    Lake Michigan Club?

I think a lake michigan area club would be great. A couple guys I fish with and myself all run Gradys and think they are the best things that float. We fish and boat pretty much all of michigan side of the pond and over in saginaw bay area of huron.

safe and acceptable "fixes" for a marginally worn tank

I was thinking to cut an access into the stringer in order to feed the fuel fill and vent lines up through the gunnel. I think it sounds drastic but I dont think that I'll be able to pull the new hoses with the old by attaching them together. I'm definately going to give that a shot before I...

safe and acceptable "fixes" for a marginally worn tank

The tank "beds" and supports under them are pretty well shot, the bulkhead between the two coffin boxes is not great, and I belive I need to cut a hole in the starboard side stringer in order to chase my fuel fill hose. I picked up a sheet of 3/4" marine grade grade plywood yesterday (wow did...

safe and acceptable "fixes" for a marginally worn tank

If you found anyone close to 300 bucks I would love to get in contact with them. The cheapest I have found is about 1200 for my 125 gallon tank. Florida Marine, which is where mine are originally from, wants like 1400 + shipping. My local guy at around 1200 also says to make is from 3/16...

safe and acceptable "fixes" for a marginally worn tank

So I've decided to pick all you experts brains to see if there is a way to repair my main tank on my 1988 25' Sailfish. Last fall I picked this boat up and thought it was in great shape. Needless to say the only thing that is in good shape is the polished hull. I knew I had to replace the deck...

When is it time to replace gas tank?

I do see the black slimy stuff, which I clean thru my access plates. What do you guys think of a 19 year old gas tank used in fresh water? Its not the age, its the black slimy stuff that can cause galvanic corrosion becasue it holds moisture on the tank. I had a pair of 165 gallon tanks on my...

When is it time to replace gas tank?

I am in the middle of the same process on my 88 Sailfish. I started with re-building the spongey tank covers, then realized that the fuel tank area was covered in black sludge so I decided to do some cleaning. I ended up removing the tanks finding that they both had a lot of galvanic...

need fuel tank size for a 1985 190 Tournament

I've been working on my Sailfish chasing and replacing fuel lines and now I've discovered that I too need fuel tanks. I emailed grady white and they called me back within a day or so. They were a ton of help, gave me model numbers, gallons, and options of tanks. If your doing tanks, check the...

ok well the main tank is out and cleaned. looks like it was shot with a shot gun! corrosion everywhere on the top of the tank. I called Florida Marine Tanks and they said that it was 1300 for the main and 750 for the auxillary. I'm waiting now on some local fab shops to get back with me. Now...

replacing fuel fill hoses on my 25 sailfish

Does anybody reccomend a certain type of fill hose? I see Jamestowne Distributers has a couple of different types, all for gas or diesel but drastically different pricing. Pez- in a thread you mentioned cutting access through an longitudal bulkhead, is this a stringer? I assume that the...

replacing fuel fill hoses on my 25 sailfish

ok well after underestimating how much fuel was really in the main tank because of a non-functioning or malfunctioning gas gauge I managed to siphon out about 35 gallons of gas and removed the tank. Other than being really filthy, the bilge area didnt look too bad but it was getting pretty dark...
