Trailering GW 300 Marlin, 305 Express of 330 Express

I have a trailered 06 Marlin and tow it with an 04 F-250 Super Duty with the 6.0. Yes we had it bulletproofed. She’s wide enough to need a permit to tow but no flags or signage. Florida’s pretty easy to get the permit. I have yet to be asked for it but the furthest ramp I go to is 15 miles...

2002 Marlin starboard side tackle storage box

The one on my 06 Marlin is just as tall and wide as the door frame. The depth is about 9 7/16 from to the door frame from the back of the insert.

Throttle & shifting cables length for Gulfstream.

I called GW and asked for my lengths for my Marlin. It took a few days but you can’t beat getting the right answer first time.

    Marlin with Minn Kota Raptors?

You had me curious so I went out and did the battery test on the motor. Used it for 3 1/2 or 4 hours on last Wednesday and it’s been sitting since then and the self test says I have 80 to 95% battery left. Not saying that’s gospel just what the test tells me according to the manual.

    Marlin with Minn Kota Raptors?

Atleast 6 hours. I haven’t actually timed it but I’ve been out over 12 hours on a few occasions and subtracting 2 hours out and 2 hours back minus a few repositions to different spots. I haven’t had it die on me yet so I don’t know for sure. I turn it on as I’m trying to find the spot I want...

    Marlin with Minn Kota Raptors?

Calm it’s spot on. Once the trolling motor gets out of its spot, I think it’s 5 feet or something like that, it beeps and shuts down. For me that’s 3 foot waves or larger and some decent wind (10 mph or so). Choppy waves and gusty wind will give me some issues at times but in 2 foot or less...

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Right now the 96’ trolling motor alone is $4k. I can find the receipt and get a complete breakdown of the parts if you want from Legendary here in PCB. Three batteries and a Minn Kota battery charger and wiring. It blocks the Nav lights so they deleted the factory ones on the bow and installed...

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Yes. I do want to modify the rail just to make it easier but I can deploy and retrieve it solo. It did take a few times of doing it to get the hang of it though.

    Marlin with Minn Kota Raptors?

Here’s the link to what I posted. If you want any more pictures or anything specific let me know. I got it put on here locally in Panama City Beach. It does get too rough or windy for it to hold a spot but I normally don’t get out there to fish on those days anyway...

    2006 Marlin Throttle/Shift cable replacement

Starboard throttle was stiffer than the port for a while now. Last trip out I couldn’t get it above 3,000 RPM’s. I took the rubber boot that goes into the starboard engine off and found the throttle cable busted and rusty. Added the before picture.

    2006 Marlin Throttle/Shift cable replacement

It was rewarding. I was really careful with the control. The only thing that fell was the nut that holds the bottom screw to hold them together. My biggest fear was trying to save a few hundred dollars by doing it myself and costing me a thousand dollars because I messed it up.
