Thanks all. I think I have it mounted properly now. Now the question is to get the best readings, should it be level with waterline at rest , or slightly up so that when at plane it level with bottom?

As mentioned before in my post #16, here's the installation instructions for my particular transducer, of which it is a Garmin GT 56UHD and it says the transducer should extend .125" below a fiberglass hull. I'd look up your transducer part number, get the instructions for it to make sure nothing is vastly different as I imagine some transducers might be slightly different from one another, and then go from there.

i assume with any of the adhered-on blocks, you cant mount onto bottom paint?

for the epoxy, you want to sand off bottom paint, wipe, and apply

for the 3M adhesive, i guess you would want to sand the bottom paint off then essentially do a gelcoat correction to get a smooth finish before applying the block

Side scan transducers must be mounted on centerline or you need two transducers. See Garmin installation instructions. GT51M-TH
