All my 1994 228G blue bump tail around boat is faded and a little damaged in a couple spots. Has anyone replaced it? How difficult wa it and time consuming? I know the materials I can get from IMC who makes the stuff for Grady. Any tips would be helpful. Videos even better from YouTube.

Take some acetone and a bunch of rags and start wiping it down, keep changing rags because it will be nasty. After it's cleaned up, use some 303 protectant on it, might surprise you how it turns out.

If I may add.. Scrub it first with soap and water, rinse and let dry. It is critical that the rail be dry before using the acetone and rags

As far as replacement goes, a rubrail is a rubrail is a rubrail. They might look different but they all basically attach the same way and it's quite simple. Remove the center piece - which may be rope or a vinyl insert - that will expose the screws. Remove screws and peel the blue piece off. Heat will be your friend to reattach the new one around bends.

As noted above... try cleaning, first.

Cleaning first with acetone is great advice, mine was a black color, so I thought but the acetone brought out the navy blue factory color.
