Seakeeper Ride

im not sure what exactly you are asking. if you are familiar with SKR, you know what it would do on the boat....

I had them put on the transom flush to the bottom into the edge of the sides of the boat. I had to have the old trim tabs removed and then glass in so that the back of the transom is completely flush as the sea keepers have to be mounted on a flat surface cost about $3000 for the fiberglass work to be done. It's well worth it.

Where did you install the Sea Keeper on a 282? What part of the boat?
The Seakeeper Ride is not a Gyro,
it's a interceptor style trim tabs/blades on the transom and a control box who constantly correct the boats level when under way. The don't control roll when slow or not moving.
There are similar systems from ZipWake and Humphries for less $$$ and doing the same.

I just put them on my 2006 Sailfish 282....GAME CHANGER! Rides like a 40'. Well worth the expense.
Make a video if you can. Have a 282 also and been debating.

When I want to stand on something level and constant, I go stand on a sidewalk.

........just kidding guys. It's a spendy little add on but cool technology. It might cut down on the looks from the Admiral.

There are hundreds of videos about the Seekeeper Ride, the Zipwake and the Humphree

https://zipwake.com/

Check Youtube and other sources too, boaters who have such a system are happy with it.
I don't see any reason for me and my use why i should install one, but see the advantage of a gyro system if
a) sleeping on the boat when choppy
b) slow trolling or bottom fishing when choppy
c) the above for people who suffer either from medical issues with joints or heavy motion sickness

While a Gyro system control/eliminate rolling at slow speed and stopped, the above systems work only when boat is moving at a faster pace, same as trim tabs.

I personally consider Seakeeper as a actual hype and overpriced and afaik Humphree and Zipwake build this systems for a longer time and are less expensive.

The Seakeeper Ride kicks in at 10 MPH so it does nothing when rolling but not moving forward faster than 10 MPH.
There are other advantages to the system though. In addition to lessening rolling, it can also adjust trim when networked with the motor network. That can help keep the bow up or down as appropriate in active seas or when getting on plane.
It will also lessen listing as when your passengers move from one side to the other or when abeam seas are present or winds for that mater. The aggressiveness of the adjustments can be adjusted as can the pitch control and those variables saved in the system. With the control panel real time adjustments can also be made.
So in my mind, the advantage is that when used, you don't need to make those frequent small trim tab adjustments or as is often my case, ask your somewhat 'buff' buddies to move to the other side of the deck!
I have the system in my new to me 26 foot CC but I haven't launched that boat yet:(

To be honest, I have no real world experience other than my sea trial. The Ride product was not on my list of 'wants' when boat shopping. It just happened to be on the boat I bought. We will see if it is a game changer, nice, or an overpriced option.

This comes up in many posts regarding auto trim control.
In all the 20 years of chartering and same on private trips with friends my way to handle that is to distribute them correctly and tell them to stay seated. For the list problem what i could solve using trim tabs but mainly for safety reasons as o dont want people walking around when boat is at planing speed. Most of my clients were people who don't understand the dangers when walking around and that this will influence boat balance.

However, nothing bad with this systems, afaik, who has it loves it.
