WIRE ROUTING FOR PULPIT MOUNTED SPOT LIGHT 330 EXPRESS

I installed this on my 228 and I'm pretty happy with it. I angle it so it's aimed more towards the water at idle speeds and comes more horizontal at cruise. No glare. Good viability. Doesn't interfere with the trailer tongue or anchor but the anchor does reduce the lighting so I'll take the...

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

I have all Garmin electronics so just ordered the 90" Garmin Kraken. I know I can cut it off its way too long buy this gives me options especially if I upgrade to a bigger boat. I'll update this thread as I get into it.

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

Thanks Summertop, I was leaning toward the new Minn Kota Terrova Quest for the brushless motor but now I need to consider the Garmin Kraken for the integration with my Garmin electronics. I called Garmin today and they don't offer the GT56 UHD transducer for the 90" yet but I already have the...

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

For those of you who installed the 72" shaft on their Seafarer, is it long enough? The next step up on the Minn Kota is 87" which is a lot more expensive and I'm already struggling with how long the 72" is. I was told the equation is (distance from gunnel to water) + 20" + 5" for ocean use is...

Dash panel removal to get to Gages on a 2008 226 Seafarer

Hi Dennis, My 2004 228 does have the drop down box to access my electronics but can't get to those guages in the upper compartment. I see Mr KYGrady has a solution (as always), thanks.

Dash panel removal to get to Gages on a 2008 226 Seafarer

Following, I have the same question... can't access them from the electronics box and the exterior screws on the face of that panel just spin. I assume the only way to get in there is to drop down the cabbin headliner so i decided not to go there until it's necessary.

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

Thank you all for sharing your Seafarer TM installs, I'm planning to put one on my 228 and this is all very helpful! Bazzturd, I like the pulpit install and leaning toward installing mine like that if i can work it out. I noticed you didn't cut your bow rail so do you manually slide it forward...

Fitted trailer bunks for a 22' Seafarer?

I like the "pigeon toe" idea. Part of the issue is also my bunks are too far forward so I'm planning to move them 12" back so they end just before my transom edge and while I'm at it I'm going to add 1 or two 5" Galvanized Trailer Frame Straps on top of that 3" cross bar as spacers to the...

Fitted trailer bunks for a 22' Seafarer?

Not quite a nightmare but it's a beast to crank all the way on and need to skid the truck in reverse to get it off. This may be a contributing factor to the gell coat rubbing but I think most of the wear occurs as I'm bouncing along the road. And for those wondering, yes, I do strap the...

Fitted trailer bunks for a 22' Seafarer?

Not worn through (yet) but there's always white chalky residue on the inside edge of the black bunk pads so there's no doubt the gelcoat is wearing.

Fitted trailer bunks for a 22' Seafarer?

I bought a new Load Rite bunk trailer rated for 6k lbs from the Grady dealer I bought my boat from a few years ago. The issue I'm having is the bunks are not flat to the hull so the sharp lower edge is grinding off my gelcoat. I brought it back to the dealer and another Load Rite dealer who...

    Ocean City MD. Fishing reports

I keep my 22' Seafarer on a trailer near the West Ocean City public launch in the summer and OBX in the fall through spring. I run mine as far as the Hotdog but the inshore bite didn't developed like usual and canyons here have been slow so I've mostly been fishing the canyons on friends boats...

    NJ fishing reports

Late report but we fished Little Italy area on Saturday morning. Blowing 15kts from the NW as we rounded Sandy Hook but since they only forecast 5 to 10 I figured it would pass... wrong. By the time we arrived it was blowing 15 - 20 with 4' - 5'+ white caps stacked up at 3 seconds. No...

    NJ fishing reports

Looks like a great offshore weather window coming the next few days, anyone else going? I'm planning to run my brother's boat out of the Highlands Saturday AM and maybe Sunday if we have enough energy. Probably start around that break near LI and keep going to Resor, AP, Triples until I find...

    NJ fishing reports

A guy in our marina with tripple 300s left the dock pre dawn and ran all around on Sunday, loads of bait but he didn't see any signs of tuna at all. We caught 3 keeper fluke within sight of the dock that morning .

    NJ fishing reports

We stared Saturday at the Rattlesnake outside of the Shrewsbury rocks, lots of short Sea bass and only one keeper after 45 minutes so moved out to the edge of the mudhole. Lots of marks but nobody was catching so went all the way to the Shark River reef and ended up with 14 decent ones but had...

Hi Skunk, thank you for all the reports and Intel! The weekend weather looks great so I'll be running my brother's 28' Regulator out of the Highlands this Saturday and Sunday. Planning to Seabass in that wreck zone (not sure what it's called) about 5nm North of LI / Humpty where those big...
