    Actually, it takes over 20# to compress but only 12# to keep it compressed

    Funny, that's what I did already but mine won't hold the lid up anymore. The bad ones take a little over 20# to compress. If I had a good one to test....

    I am wanting to replace the gas struts in the rigging station on my 2001 Grady 306. They are Ameritool and appear to be 625-2 which measures 7.5" OAL and 5.25" compressed. The problem is I do not know the lifting force I need. Anyone know?
