bow mount trolling motor on a 225 tournament DC

Looks like I replied to the wrong post, sorry about that. I would like to put a trolling motor on my 225. I’ll have to put it on a removable bracket as my cover won’t fit with it on. That, or modify my cover.

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

Thank you all for sharing your Seafarer TM installs, I'm planning to put one on my 228 and this is all very helpful! Bazzturd, I like the pulpit install and leaning toward installing mine like that if i can work it out. I noticed you didn't cut your bow rail so do you manually slide it forward...

    3 batteries to 2

...size batteries effects charging and battery life if you don't keep them isolated Unless you have a thruster and/or an electric trolling motor, I question the advantage of using lithium batteries. Electric motors will require a lot of capacity and you would need to save weight vs Lead if you...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Thanks for the link on the load tester, I agree that for $20, you can't really go wrong with one and I'll have to get one the next chance I get. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like if it was the outboard that I would've experienced this issue before? This is the second season of running the...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Thanks for the replies so far... I rarely ever do any sort of fishing other than trolling for salmon, so the outboard is essentially always on and as mentioned, I rarely ever kill the motor to do any drift fishing and/or drift fishing with a ton of electronics on or anything. As mentioned, I...

    283 vs 306 canyon

Between the boats in question I would choose larger. Have ridden in some snotty seas on a Sailfish with 300’s and it does really well, owner is super happy with boat and power. I hear you on running costs and am very happy with the miniature Sailfish a/k/a 208 that I bought this year. I...

electric trolling motor for adventure 208

Agree, the manual deploy trolling motor is less problematic. I have the Minn Kota Terrova. Battery mount, I fabricated to fit in the bilge. That space is rather tight. The batteries are SOK lithium batteries. Hard to describe, but eliminating the short vertical (1”) wall on the angle side of...

    Trolling Motor for 208

Oh that last one I missed in my search. My bow mount would need to be different as I have a pulpit and windlass. I could see losing the windlass as most of the anchoring where I am at is in only 10-15 feet of water. I hadn’t thought of putting the batteries in the bilge are under the cabin...

    Trolling Motor for 208

Thanks for all the links and thoughts on a gas trolling motors, appreciate that. For my purposes I’m thinking of an electric, bow mounted GPS controlled motor. The bow-mount motors are great for holding a spot over structure without anchoring, controlling a drift in a narrow channel or over...

    Trolling Motor for 208

I don't have the same boat, nor do I have a kicker motor on my 228 Seafarer. Until someone else responds, here are a few decent threads on the same topic you're considering doing. In regards to picking which kicker motor to go with, I'd personally go with a Suzuki 9.9 because it has EFI option...

    Trolling Motor for 208

Any thoughts and especially pictures of mounting solutions for trolling motor and battery locations on a 208 would be appreciated. If I look at thrust requirements it seems that I will need 36v or three batteries to have around 100lb thrust. If anybody is successfully using 80lbs that would...

...all the way down. I've crossed over double-stacked five footers going 25 knots while heading offshore, we all got wet from the second five footer, but i knew then that the boat could take waaaaaay more than I can. It's an amazing boat. Definately get a GPS trolling motor mounted up on the front.

I see you have a chase. I recently purchased one also and am busy installing new electronics and a trolling motor and such. I am powered with twin ocean pro 225's but have yet to make a test run. What kind of performance do you have with your setup?
