Have a 1995 262 Chase. Fuel gage quit working. Removed fuel sensor and made sure electrical connections were OK and that float ball was free. What is best way to check if guage is bad or if sending unit is bad? :?:

The fuel gauge on my 17.5 spirit seems to be stuck reading four bars. ANyone have any experience with this? I'm wondering if there is a reset or if it can be unhooked and then reconnnected. If something is bad is there a way to tell if it's the sender in the tank or the guage on the counsel??

There si a reason they are not the same size tank, not ment to be run simulataneously by design. This does not mean it cannot be done, but most boats ride better off a particular tank then another, so for distance you want to burn the tank off that has a worse effect on economy or ride first...

You are correct but there can be a catch. Depending on the tank desigh=n and the angle of the boat, a partially filled tank can still read full on the guage since the fuel is shifted to the back. You have to unload enougt fuel to be sure that when you remove the sender cover, fuel doesn't flow out

With twins you ALWAYS get the fuel management, it is not an option from Yamaha so if you do not have it they messed up somewhere. It was only optional for single applications. It should say fuel mangement on the guage somwhere and you should be able to toggle the sceen for more information...

Guages The fuel info should be on the bottom of the speed guage if im thinking correctly....my 305 only has 3 guages.

Well we filled the tanks a little more then 7/8 for the winter and put stabilizer and such in. As soon as she splashes I'm going to top her off as high as I can and run both tanks really low and keep track of my burn to see if it is the guage that is off or a blockage in the fill line or vent...

I installed a 210 last season. It was fairly easy to install and seems to work well. I'm not anal about actual mileage. I just wanted to get an idea. I am using it more as an accuate fuel guage. No complaints here. It was well worth the $100 I spent. David
