What bottom paint are you using this year

That might be your saving grace to keep your boat a virgin ;) It might be an environment that is not conducive to barnacles. Do you see any barnacles growing anywhere near your slip? If not, you'll probably be good and will just have soft growth (weeds).

    Ordered my dream trailer

The quality of components and, especially, the quality of build/install are the main factors. There are other trailer manufacturers that produce an excellent trailer, but Owens is definitely a reputable one. A torsion axle suspension can offer a smoother "ride".

What bottom paint are you using this year

Trapper, are you in salt water? Although you can sometimes knock parts of the barnacles off with a pressure washer, you CAN NOT get all of it off. The only way is to manually use acid and even then you likely will have to sand them off - which also means you end up sanding the gelcoat. The...

No Water from Pee Hole, 1994 Yamaha 200 2s

But... if it worked fine on your hose before, it should again. Possibly you put the impeller in backwards... and sometimes they will "flip" by themselves.

    Gas tank position

Yes. Although I believe having two tanks would have been an option. But I believe the reason the larger tank is forward is because there was originally a stern drive in the back of the boat.

    Updating Ditch Bag

Come to think of it, I think have some granola bars or something in one of the vest pockets... I wonder what their shelf life is....... Think they're good for about 6 or 7 years?

No Water from Pee Hole, 1994 Yamaha 200 2s

OK, well that amount of time is plenty. 30 seconds, give or take is usually plenty. However, the key thing I'm seeing is that the amount of squirt didn't change. It should. This means the water isn't even being sucked in to start with. So, at this point, focus on the impeller rebuild.

No Water from Pee Hole, 1994 Yamaha 200 2s

Assuming you're using muffs... you attached the hose to muffs, slipped them on, turned the water on full and lot's of water was squirting out the lip of the muffs. Then you started the engine. Did the amount of water squirting out change by a noticeable amount? How long are you waiting to see...

    Updating Ditch Bag

A basic multi tool -- but a decent one - you don't want to rely on a cheap one that you can't open because it rusted shut or the knife breaks in half because it cheap metal. Be sure to put a floatie on the knife! Some carabiners with 1/4" nylon line so you can clip two people together. I...

    Ordered my dream trailer

I think you and I dream about different things... ;) That price you have set for your Venture is very fair. Trailers are VERY hard to get right now and even though Venture is more of an entry level trailer, I can't imagine that you will have any issues getting that price. Craigslist would be...

    Using paint instead of gelcoat?

Above the waterline, sure, you can paint. You may not get a perfect match, but if you're not overly picky, it should be close enough. Worst case, down the road, it starts to wear/flake off... just spray it again. If you have something on your boat that you can remove, take it to an auto body...

Fisherman 257 Bungee Type Cover for aft swing down seat question

I don't know - but this sounds like something that would be pretty easy to make? Basically, sew a bag and put either a bungee cord in the hem or thin rope with one of those quick cincher, drawstring things.

What bottom paint are you using this year

Just a quick heads up for anyone lifting their boat... you can jack up the boat directly under the keel if you wanted to. Concrete blocks can be stacked, 2x2 till the last row) to support the boat at the aft chine corners and one set under the bow.

What bottom paint are you using this year

Even with bottom paint, it's possible to still get some growth - especially if the boat just sits. The solution? Go boating, more! :)

Want to add a windlass on a 2006 226 Seafarer

Check the specs on horizontal windlasses, instead of vertical. Horizontals need less "fall" distance into the lcoker. You'll need to get creative with mounting, of course. Just a side note... you still need to go forward to unlock and lock the windlass since you should not rely on the gearing...

    Gas tank position

I have an Offshore -- although technically it started it's life as a Weekender (stern drive) - but now it is an Offshore. The engine is on a bracket and I have only the fwd 92g tank. I have absolutely zero problems - hole shot and performance on plane is fantastic. I guess depending on how...

What bottom paint are you using this year

Nah, it's not that bad. Some idea as jacking up a smaller boat. A 27-footer isn't all that big that you would need to do anything different.

What bottom paint are you using this year

I use Hydrocoat Eco so that I can also use it on the engine bracket. It stays in the water (Maine) for about 5 to 6 months. Jack the boat up off the trailer to reach under the bunks. However, the best thing you can do is to NOT make your choice based on any of our recommendations. You need...

To generate or not to generate

We (4 of us) did a lot of overnighting - even extended weekends in our Sea Ray Sundancer (cruiser). So likely, very similar use to what you are asking out. I used ONE deep cycle battery for the house loads and never ran it down. In fact, I once went 3 days and purposefully never switched away...
