i would recommend that you sea trial with a few of your buds. the 232 is a big boat and you should make sure that you feel comfortable with it and the power. i had twin f200's on my '02 and wouldn't do anything else (maybe t-f150's), but that's just me. i think twins really improve close...

sent a quick email to gw. looks like the new v-6 4 strokes will be ok for re-power of older hulls rated for similar hp - due to low weight. anybody doing so should probably validate their specific hull/year with gw to make sure. ron

plexus is one of the brands recommended by gw. it's been working great for me for 6 years.

i'm no expert, but these 4.2L engines shouldn't be at the top of their range. they're naturally aspirated so the hp isn't being squeezed out. hopefully they are going to be great engines. ron

agree. when the crud gets in the filter it just about shuts it down. finale was the micro switch going. wasn't worth it to go thru changing that out so i just got a new pump. ron

i think mine was shurflo also. i would just make sure that the gph/psi of the new is the same as the old. there are some really powerful pumps out there and they may be too much for the fresh water connections/tubing. check with gw if you can't see the info on the pump. i picked up mine at...

the pump on my '02 was in the same location you described (on the transom). i think the fresh and raw water are two different types. but you can look at it to be sure. ron
