    Shower sum pump filter location

Yeah, the drawing isn't very specific. The termination point of that hose should be labelled "shower floor drain".

    Good luck.

    Grady white 228g soft spot

Where is the soft spot? You kind left out that key piece of info... :)

    Grady white 228g soft spot

Rot happens from water entry into the various cores used throughout the boat. The only reason water would enter the core is if it's compromised from damage/cracking/improper screwing/lack of maintenance/etc. In other words, it doesn't "magically" happen.

Polyester resin it totally fine to use and is much less expensive than epoxy. Epoxy is stronger, but that's not really something that comes into play here - polyester is more than strong enough - most boats are made with polyester. However, the big advantage of epoxy is that it's easier to...

    1988 Offshore Pulpit Rebuild

Look for threads on hatch repair - exactly the same idea.

    Anchor size for 272 sailfish

What do you currently have and why do you feel the need to change? "Most" times, getting a better hook can be solved by better anchoring techniques.

    Grady white 228g soft spot

No. The wood (or whatever someone chooses to use) is the "core", sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass. The core, itself, is not the structure. Instead, it's job is to separate the two layers of glass. This separation is what gives the hatch it's strength. For example, I re-cored a...

    T-top pic request

I don't know the exact weight of my top, but if I were to estimate the weight difference of the canvas material to the stuff used on my top, I would say it's probably only a couple pounds. The stuff that is used on mine is solid/weatherproof like a fiberglass top, but it is very thin - almost...

    T-top pic request

No, I can't delete your thread. But you should be able to - or at least edit it to say something like "duplicate post", or something like that. OK, I see - I guess I was envisioning something different. But, yeah, that looks basically like a hardtop - just canvas, instead. Looks like that...

    T-top pic request

I think someone just asked that same question yesterday - check that other thread. I'm sure it wasn't you - I can't imagine someone being that impatient... ;) But that said, why would you put a T-top on a walkaround? A t-top, by definition, is a T shape, which means the legs then would be...

    Grady white 228g soft spot

While having rot "anywhere" stinks, the good thing is that it is a relatively quick and simple repair to replace the core. Personally, I wouldn't mess with drilling holes and such since replacing the entire core is so easy - and doing it properly will mean, easily, a few more decades of use...

    Trim Tab Indicator

How long has it been since you emailed them? You gotta understand that businesses are in a tough bind right now. They have decreased staff, increased demand for product, less availability of parts/supplies... They're doing their best, but patience will help. As mentioned, also try calling...

    Towing a 1990 seafarer 228g

Don't assume. Do the math. But, you kinda missed the main point we were making. It's much more about braking ability than getting going. To think anything else is a recipe for disaster. FYI, low gear won't help you - unless your truck is different from every other 4WD I've driven, you can't...

    Towing a 1990 seafarer 228g

I think you should be "OK", but you should double check your weights. And, really, this is something you should do yourself - don't rely on what someone else says. Go to Grady's website and you can download the owner's manual or brochure for your boat or model year. That's going to be your...

    Starboard Source?

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're doing. Sealant isn't going to "fill" a gap since you have to tighten it down - sealant is not structural. Also, why are you are looking to have "custom" shims made? Buy a piece of plastic and just cut it to the size you need. Honestly, if you can't...

    Stuck ski pylon

More muscle? :) Seriously, use more power - leverage will help you... strap wrench, pipe wrench (protect the pylon if you're concerned about it)... add a pipe over the handle of the tool. But try soaking the threads in PB Blaster - do this a couple times a day for a few days. If not, there's...

    Starboard Source?

Ootboard shims. I re-did my bang plate, and when I start tightening down the bolts the bracket starts mashing and bending the 1/16" angle I used because the transom isn't exactly 90° and I screwed it down and used 3M 4000. I want to cut 4 shims so the outboards lay flat against the transom...

    Leaving home for moorage

That's actually a fallacy. A boat is no more prone to blisters painted or unpainted. Antifouling paint is not "waterproof". Plus, the better the gelcoat formulation is (Grady's are quite good), blisters are mostly non-existant.

    Leaving home for moorage

I think the water you are in is going to determine how long it can stay in the water before hard growth (barnacles) starts. Where I am in Maine, I have left an unpainted boat in the water for a solid two weeks without any growth, at all. The warmer the water gets, it becomes more active. My...
