    Where can I find these?

Everything is waterproof - and you could quickly rinse it off, if needed. But I looked at a picture of a 180 console and I see what you're talking about. So... couple thoughts, in no particular order... -- First, I hear 'ya on trying to stay sane! A little boat project would be the...

    Filling holes..........

Filling with epoxy, as mentioned above (whether you buy pre-mixed or make your own) is definitely the "best" way. The syringe trick is important. If your boat is bottom painted, just paint over the epoxy after you get the area "somewhat" smooth. After injecting the epoxy, put a piece of tape...

    Where can I find these?

The board would have been cut in-house by Grady. You can very easily do the same - a piece of starboard will do the job. Looks like 1/4"? That's easy to source and you cut it yourself. I doubt you're going to be able to "just buy" that piece already made for you. Although a place like Teak...

    Kicker motors

Bob, there's 54 posts and multiple pictures of brackets. Which bracket are you asking about? Can you cut/modify the bracket to mount lower? Cut it (reinforce where needed) so it slides down over top the tab ram? Then put an adjustable motor bracket on the end of of the fixed bracket.

    Fuel vent thru hull replacement

I wouldn't worry about what Grady is currently doing. Do whatever you want. These are pretty nice: https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=12257 FYI, be sure to fix that loop (secure it better) so it is an "upward" loop as opposed to a "sideways" loop. A sideways...

Time for new anchor for Canyon 336

Ah. Gotcha - I understand where you're coming from. I can't answer the question of the fitment of a different anchor with your particular anchor roller, but in regards to the 3-strand/8-plait... first, all rope gets dirt and salted up over time which causes slippage in the gypsy and coiling...

    2005 23 GULF STREAM SINGLE 250 YAMMI

Hence the remaining (yet unanswered :) )question about the WOT RPM - which should help narrow down the possibilities.

Keeping critters out of the cabin

Oh... you know what else seems to be a good deterrent? Dryer sheets. Place them throughout the cabin and in cubbies/v-berth storage. A while back, before I started using the bronze wool, I had critters (squirrels, I believe) in the cabin over the winter. Upon the recommendation of a local...

Time for new anchor for Canyon 336

Did you break the current plow anchor? Reason I ask is that's a good anchor and 99% of the time, the reason for an anchor "not" holding is due to improper anchoring technique. #1, be sure you are letting out enough rode to reach the proper scope for the conditions. Most people fall well short...

Keeping critters out of the cabin

Plastic stuff isn't going to stop things - maybe temporarily, but they can still chew through that. What you need is something they don't like to chew on. Steel wool is fantastic for this - the little strands of metal will stop them before they even get their teeth in there since it will...

    2005 23 GULF STREAM SINGLE 250 YAMMI

Joey, what's the maximum RPM you can achieve (and GPS speed) when you're going all out? No trim tabs and keep trimming the engine up till speed no longer increases or the prop starts to ventilate. Tabs should NOT be dropping speed all that much at cruising speeds. They are, however, a HUGE...

    How to repair this??

Are you sure there isn't a floor panel that can be removed with a few screws? Most of the boats have that - the first picture I pulled up of a Seafarer via google showed it. Post a pic of your cockpit floor. How are you going to protect the wood? It won't take long for it to rot away and...

    2005 23 GULF STREAM SINGLE 250 YAMMI

Joey, can you get the engine to full RPM - at or near it's MAX RPM? Is it 5,500? That's the first thing we need to verify. Secondly, yes, it's smaller than most would like, but it should still work. And there are ways to make it work so you don't have to buy a new engine. --What kind of...

    86' 240 Offshore Restoration

Ah, OK. I understand what you're thinking, now. First, rest assured, this is a normal, everyday way to rebuild a transom. That's the beauty of fiberglass and polyester resin - they bond amazingly well, even after the initial layup where everything was still wet. Epoxy resin is even more...

    Insulation

Huh? So it is white styrofoam? Maybe Grady used sheets of that for floatation. Either way, the same first step holds true as I mentioned.

    Insulation

My "guess" is that it's some expanding foam that was sprayed/poured on the outboard side of the stringers. Possibly some squeezed past the joint between stringers and the floor of the cabin when it was originally done and it's just now been breaking off. You'll need to look into the access...

    Floor panel 226

Can't purchase, but it can absolutely be repaired. This is actually a somewhat normal thing and it requires only basic techniques - but you will need to do some fiberglassing - still pretty basic, though. Essentially, cut the underskin off... remove the plywood core... epoxy the new core back...

    86' 240 Offshore Restoration

Brian, I'm not quite understanding what you're asking... but I wonder if it might be because you have your terminology confused... maybe don't fully understand the boat construction method... or maybe I didn't fully explain the process. The "transom" is the entire piece at the back of the boat...

Explorer 24 looking live we’ll drain part

If BRT can be used below the waterline, I'm not aware of it being approved for that. I think that's the wrong application for it. Under the waterline, I typically use Life Caulk (which can actually be applied underwater!). LC is similar to 4200 in strength, but is also UV stable (not that...
