U-channel trim for side panels, etc.

Taco Marine makes a bunch of this stuff. Probably won't be the color you want. It should be less expensive, though - I guess it all depends on how important the "look" is to you.

    Shower sump pump ?'s

As mentioned, first test things - it's more common for the wiring to get corroded/failed or the float switch to go wonky than for the pump to go bad (and don't forget checking the fuse). But, assuming you've already done this since you're asking about a pump replacement, any commonly available...

Marine Paint Question for Engine Bracket

Thinking the same. Give it a shot - or look at the other end of the bolts through the access plate in the bracket? That should give you the answer real quick. Not sure if someone's going to have long enough arms to get to the bolt heads - so probably will just need an extension for a socket -...

New guy with a new (to me) 222 Fisherman

Welcome aboard! Offhand, no, I don't know exactly. Probably floats in something like 16" or 18", give or take. Then it just depends on how far you have the motor in - making sure to keep the water intake underwater. If you look in the owner's manual, or download it from Grady's site, it will...

    Good deal!

    How to remove ski pylon

Pictures of pylon and mounting locations? Some pylons are OK to pull tubes, some not so much. Check your manual or contact Grady to get a definitive answer. I've seen the results of using pylons for things they are not designed for... not pretty.

    Broken windshield

Curved. Shoot - was hoping to hear it was flat. You'll have to get in touch with the manufacturer that produced it. You should also consider getting your insurance involved. I can't speak for Water Bonnet, but if it's a Taylor product... they are VERY proud of their products.... ;)

2009 330 Pompanette Helm Seat mods

See if I'm thinking straight here... even if you figure out some type of adapter plate or something, the pole is still where it is. This means that some portion of the plate or existing seat base is still going to be where it is. You can't slide anything further forward than the post - there's...

    2005 282 Sailfish Moisture Issue

I think I would only proceed if you could find out EXACTLY where the rot is/isn't and offer appropriately. But... are there other suspect areas? Or, have the seller fix the issue and then re-survey. Otherwise... there are other boats in the sea.

    Broken windshield

Is it flat glass or slightly curved?

    2005 282 Sailfish Moisture Issue

So... we've been talking about "does it, doesn't it" and this whole time your surveyor actually put eyes on the balsa? Ummmm... I think you could've led with that! ;) But... the foc'sle (forecastle) is the FORWARD part of the deck. Aren't we talking about the aft portion of the hull side?

    2005 282 Sailfish Moisture Issue

Interesting to hear that, Pipe. I'll admit that I'm surprised that a cored hull side is being used in this size boat. But, I would also rather hear it directly from the horse's mouth (or yours, if you contact Grady directly) as opposed to what could be hearsay on the 'net.

    Stereo, and shore radio questions

Ummm... I think you answered your own question on whether the stereo works, or not! :) For replacement - yes, the Fusions have been all the rage, but not cheap. It all depends on your budget and what features you want. It's kinda like the threads of "which is the best oil"... no such thing -...

    2005 282 Sailfish Moisture Issue

Still going on the assumption that it is not cored... As talked about above, there is a good reason why the sound can change - simply due to the construction of the boat. The boat is built with an "inner liner". If you imagine the hull as an upside down shell, then the cockpit is the inner...

    Dead outlet?

When you find the fuse, just make sure someone didn't put in a LARGER fuse - smaller is OK - but a larger one can cause fires. 16 years old... that's long enough for a few previous owner's to have had their way with your boat... and sometimes it only takes one!

    Stereo, and shore radio questions

"Barely" works... what does that mean? A stereo typically works or doesn't work - not halfway in between. But, anything is possible. You have two other variables - the speakers themselves, and the wiring/connectors. If any of those things are out of whack, performance is diminished. I'd...

    GW Walkaround Forward (Bow) Hatch

I don't know if there's a technical name - I've always just called them the extension arm or support arm. Try googling for that - and keep in mind that you don't necessarily need the exact same style, especially if you're able to be a little creative with mounting options. But even without the...

    2005 282 Sailfish Moisture Issue

You're talking about the hull side, under the rubrail? Does the Sailfish even have a cored hull side? I didn't think so? I'm pretty sure this is what Mleads was getting at, too. I think that's the first question to ask/figure out. And... a moisture meter does not a surveyor make ;)

    Dead outlet?

Does Grady do that? Wire them through a dash switch? I don't know for sure one way or the other on his Grady - just that many manufacturer's run them direct off the fuse panel - but the fuse panel is switched via the main battery switch.

    Dead outlet?

In your manual, it should at least tell you where the acc outlet's fuse is - and where the fuse block is located. If the other side works, that makes it real easy to find the fuse. Pull one fuse at a time till it no longer works. With power off, test for continuity between the two acc...
