Just got my 228 Seafarer and found the head has........

From your description, it kinda sounds like you have a porta-potty (google that... add "boat" to the search query) with a pump-out and macerator? If not, give a better description of what you have or post a pic.

    Internal Zinks

Andy is probably simply stating that he has no way to VERIFY the correct part you need. And he doesn't want to lead you down the wrong path if he can't definitively give you accurate info. If you're sure that they are the same, then go ahead and order - on SIM's site, just pick a US version of...

    Yamaha 425's on 2008 Express 330?

425's weren't available 12 years ago. Were 350HP's even available then? Meaning, the only reason that 300HP was listed on your capacity plate might be because that was the largest that was available. And, it's possible that no reinforcing was done as maybe it was/is already strong enough...

    226 Manual Bilge switch.

These are "usually" pretty obvious. Can you post a pic of the switches on the panel? I would imagine there would be info in your manual? You can download it from Grady's site.

    Console Speaker Clearance

There's not a whole lot of options here. You said you wanted to try and keep the speakers you just bought. Making a spacer is the only way to do that. Unless the plywood wall is a false wall - then you can cut into that. There's absolutely nothing "not clean" about using a spacer - it's all...

    Console Speaker Clearance

Making a spacer plate out of starboard would be pretty easy.

    225 Yamaha Motor

Would only be guessing. Could be as simple as an issue with the flush hose on the inside... could be something else. Hate to state the obvious, or be an armchair QB, but... you didn't open the cover to look?

    Beckson 6” Pry-Out Deck Plates O-Rings

A lot of this is personal preference. This a quick "title only" search for "sealant". This should answer your questions: https://www.greatgrady.com/search/309152/?q=sealant&c[title_only]=1&o=date

    Fiberglass cockpit sole soft spot

The quote referenced earlier in the thread is pretty accurate. Maybe a tad more, depending on your location and how often the yard does this kind of thing. The more they do it, the lower the cost.

Grady 232 owners. Is a big single ok on this hull or does it have to have twin engines?

At least they would have went down dancin' and having fun!

    228 Seat Upgrade

You're welcome! The only thing possible "bolt" to loosen (not remove) would be the tensioning knob (white handle). But that would have to be cranked down really tight to prevent you from removing it.

    228 Seat Upgrade

If you don't already know this, the seat pulls right off the tube. Just lift them up. I'm mentioning this because you took the pictures while it was still on the tube - and it would have been easier to do that with them off. So... just in case you didn't know that! Once you get them turned...

Grady 232 owners. Is a big single ok on this hull or does it have to have twin engines?

The concern is likely because the weight is focused on a small attachment area to the transom with a single bracket - and also right in the center where there is more "leverage". The twin bracket has attachment points spread out further along the transom - with some of it being nearer the...

    Seafarer Battery and Seacock Questions

The ball is SS and the body is bronze... but there should be a teflon sleeve between the ball and the body. It's not always easy to see, but it should be there. However, the ball is still in awful close proximity to the bronze body.

    Seafarer Battery and Seacock Questions

Your boat works on a 12v system, just like your car. "No play in the rods"... that doesn't mean anything one way or the other. It takes some force to operate them. If they haven't been operated in a while (they should be "exercised" every so often), then they might get stiffer. You may need...

    4.3L Motor Plate Info.

I can't say for sure on OMC's, but on Merc's, the engine serial number is on a small, metal plate - directly aft of and above the starter. You could also contact a Grady dealer - or maybe Grady directly - I would think they would know, based on your HIN. They should be able to give you the...

Grady 232 owners. Is a big single ok on this hull or does it have to have twin engines?

I have a 250HP on my Offshore with a bracket. The Gulfstream is roughly the same length, but a bit wider and a bit heavier - but I don't think it's a huge difference?. I have ZERO issues with performance - it pops up on plane amazingly fast. I can't imagine that you would have any problems -...

    mystery switch

That's the switch to activate the deadfall mousetrap. See the little mouse starting to crawl under the deadfall from the right side? When you see a mouse in your boat, just hit that switch. :) Actually, that's just Grady's designation for "accessory". It may not be hooked to anything - could...

Loss of rpm and top end

I would tend to agree with your line of thinking as the original prepwork wasn't done properly to the bare hull. A little sanding on the hull (scotch pad) never hurts... other than the shoulder or back the next day...
