Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

I will admit, seeing that profile, I am surprised (and admitedly wrong) it didn't cause any deformation to the tank. I guess the tank is beefier than I give it credit for.

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong, you want it secure, for sure. But I think with how much flex a boat endures, making that hatch super secure with just a bunch of small screws to hold it will likely cause them to loosen up in short time - possibly even elongate the holes some. Heck, I...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Pre-drilling should definitely help to avoid any "push away". Or, a few flush-head through bolts per side should work well, too. Meaning, put the flush-head bolts BETWEEN the existing holes. Oh, one more thing... don't go too crazy with this part of the job. The hatch doesn't need to be...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Ah, so more of a "vinyl", than rubber? Makes sense - thanks for the clarification. That's interesting it didn't cause any deformation. I just would of that it would. I guess, then, there's no real reason to change the setup, but if it was me... I would probably try and do it better, still...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Looking nice! Question... are those strips of rubber that you're laying down? Rubber causes corrosion, FYI. Are those the original pieces of rubber - and were there just two of them like there are now in the picture? It seems like because of their shape and (low) quantity, that it could...

2018 Freedom 215 Gel Coat Chipping Off

Just for clarification... blasting off the bottom paint would not have created that hard line. The BP was sitting on top of the existing gel - taking that off would just have gotten back to the original level. That line was created when the NEW gelcoat was applied on top of the old/existing...

2018 Freedom 215 Gel Coat Chipping Off

Yup. That's not factory. As KY said, that's not the way it's done in the factory. My guess is that the boat was originally bottom painted (or this was a large scale repair), then the previous owner had it blasted off and re-gelcoated (obviously not a good prep job). That "hard line" is where...

    fresh water pump on 228

Another thought - just to possibly eliminate any other blockages that could be along the way - disconnect the output line of the pump and see if water flows out. But it sounds like a jammed motor/pump (that's trying to turn, but can't) - you shouldn't be feeling anything "vibrating" if there is...

    fresh water pump on 228

Double check that the nozzle/aerator is not all gummed up with crap. If it's blocked up, that could possibly explain it. Otherwise, have you tried rapping the side of the pump while someone holds the nozzle open?

    kicker connect

Oh... if you get the approximate specs (length/size/etc) of the pieces in the kit, you could do a quick mock-up with something like cardboard and a wooden dowel. To check your clearances, that is.

    kicker connect

Ah, I gotcha. It looks like that Panther version attaches up by the steering pins? To your question (offset)... I dunno, either! :) But if it was me, I'd go right to the source and call them - probably find your answer out pretty quickly. Maybe have an email standing by to send with a...

    kicker connect

Just out of curiosity, why don't you like the EZ-Steer? I haven't personally used it, but it's been around so long and have I heard such good things about it that I always thought it was the "go to" item for this purpose?

Flip down foot rest for a 180 Sportsman center console

If you google for boat folding footrest, you'll get tons and tons of choices. It really just comes down to your personal view on the aesthetics and the amount you want to pay. Here's one example: https://www.amazon.com/Garelick-EEz-Rounded-Polymer-Footrest/dp/B01K2ODGC2

    Time for a new trailer

Mike, it take it your truck not have the round 7-pin connector? Just a flat-4? Until you get the new flat-5 connected you could, if needed, turn the two connectors 90* to each other and insert the 5th pin (bluw wire) of the trailer connector to the brown wire connector of the truck side and...

    Emergency Boat Plugs (Sinking)

Fish, have you ever had that stuff in your hands? How does it compare to a wax ring? It's looks a tad bit softer... but boy, it sure does look similar! Neat product, though.

Losing some RPM and top end

Just another quick vote for a dirty bottom :) What you're experiencing is very normal - and it doesn't take much growth, at all, to see the performance difference you are seeing (both speed and RPM drop).

    Time for a new trailer

I know the feeling - having a new trailer... or more specifically, I'm familiar with the notion of having an older trailer and always wondering "what that new sound is"! ;) Looks nice!

    2004 adventure 208. Wood ?

Paul, you seem to be a little upset by things and I'm not sure why. There's some good natured humor in this thread, sure, but there's also lot's of helpful information. I don't understand what is wrong with any of that? I have never posted on THT (I don't think I've ever even been on their...

    Plastic Fuel Tanks

I would call Moeller directly, with your dimensions, and talk with them. They make custom tanks for various boat manufacturer's (A LOT of them!) and they might have something that would work that's not listed on the web. Or, they may be able to tell you where to go/who to contact for a tank...
