    1986 Seafarer Cuddy Cushion Patern

Oh... If I ever get around to redoing my headliner (it's on my list... somewhere...), I'd probably use a foam-backed vinyl instead of a cloth material.

    1986 Seafarer Cuddy Cushion Patern

Painting would be OK, but you probably noticed that there's a lot of sharp edges from the exposed glass. A grinder would make quick work of it - although messy so wear a good mask. Headliner material and a couple cans of 3M headliner adhesive really wouldn't be all that hard. Do small...

Do you actually have your cushions? Lining... headliner?

    Time for a new trailer

You should be able to recoup some of the money by selling it on Craigslist, at least. Knowing that makes it even easier to say goodbye to it. At 34 years old - you're right - can't complain about that.

    Trailer issues

Still a shame they can't tell you more about it based on the VIN. I've dealt with multiple trailer companies over the years, and they can ALWAYS tell me EVERYTHING about the trailer based on the VIN. Sounds like McClain isn't so good with record keeping! Like you said, though, it is what it is.

    Trailer issues

You won't be able to lower the winch roller. If you do, the bow eye won't snug up underneath the roller. Sometimes, it's just the name of the game with a pulpit and a hanging anchor. Next time, just set the anchor up on deck before coming into the ramp. Generally speaking, the proper winch...

    Time for a new trailer

Ramp etiquette... Ugh. Some people need to go back to kindergarten! I've launched everything from 13-footers to 35' footers on rollers and bunks (larger stuff, too, but have always had it lifted in/out at that point). The general idea is still the same as what you already know, Mike. Don't...

Front window detached on Tournament 190

I can see your picture better, now, on a different computer. Originally, I thought you had some odd windshield with a funky bottom flange. The holes look to be slightly oblonged. You may find the screws inside the channel once you remove the foam. If you have decent access to the where the...

    Time for a new trailer

For the most part, a hull is a hull is a hull. Meaning, just because it's a Grady, that doesn't dictate roller or bunk. Go with what you know - the loading of it will be pretty much identical to you Bayliner. Yes, typically about 1/3 of the bunks sticking out - depending on how long the bunks...

Front window detached on Tournament 190

Normally, I would expect to see screws. Maybe the fiberglass in that area is thick enough that the screws don't protrude all the way through or you simply missed seeing the holes? How is the other side attached? You don't think they just used double-sided tape, do you?

    what does this wire do

OK, at nearly 30 years old, it's probably hard to try and guess what is factory and what has been done by a previous owner. As noted previously, just going through a factory chase doesn't mean it was run through there at the factory - it could have been , but a previous owner could easily have...

Best way to keep spark plug boots on a 1986 yamaha 150 outboard?

It's funny how those things can creep up on you, for sure! I wouldn't worry about the zip ties - plug boots are plenty thick. Be sparing with the adhesive. Typically the problem with boots is they get heat stuck on there so we put a little dielectric grease on the inside to help make removal...

Best way to keep spark plug boots on a 1986 yamaha 150 outboard?

They really shouldn't bounce off. Chances are they are just old and tired. You could try some bellows adhesive - or maybe even just a zip tie.

    Removing diesel soot

RO is one of those cleaners that's been around for a long, long time. But you probably won't find it at Home Depot or Walmart. I work in the industry so I buy it from the store I work at. I would think any decent marine store can get for you... and like most things nowadays, probably Amazon...

    Removing diesel soot

I've found Roll Off is great at removing diesel soot. However, if you've hit the areas really hard with a whole bunch of other stuff already, it might be a waste of money to buy it.

    Re-wiring a boat?

When the alarm goes off, use a voltmeter and physically check voltage at the Garmin's power point. If you've got good V there, the issue is either the Garmin connection, the cord, the connection on the back of the Garmin or the Garmin, itself. If you've got low V there, then start...

    Seat pedestals with D base.

Well, you're not going to believe this, but... I read your post and then, not 5 minutes later, looked at a new Crestliner that a customer had just brought in for winterization at the shop. Guess what kind of seat bases it had! So then I thought, well, obviously they're still making these so I...
