    Carburetor

Has it always been this way? I honestly can't offer any real workd advice on how much of a difference going from the 2bbl to a 4bbl would make as I've never done that exact swap. I find it hard to believe it would make that much of a difference, though. From what I remember, the rated HP...

    Carburetor

Mercruiser, until a few years ago, used GM blocks - but then would 'marinize' it... things like cam shafts and carbs would be different, and of course bolt-on things. There were also options for 305's with either 2bbl or 4bbl's. I'm not sure exactly what year(s) those were options - but there...

    Older Grady Electrical Problems

Ramblin, in reading through your post it sounds like you 'may' have some circuits protected by two fuses? You want to eliminate that. One fuse/breaker per circuit. And, I'll second (or is it third or fourth?) the notion of just getting a new fuse block. They are inexpensive and you will...

    282 Sailfish rear sun shade

Do you have a hardtop or a bimini? It's unlikely to find a "custom" kit for this as there are too many variables and not a "huge" demand for it. But read this recent thread about the exact same question, for starters: https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/1st-time-slipped-in-a-marina.27816/

Clear Plexiglass switch and gauge covers for 1991 Grady Sailfish

Yup. Source as mentioned above. Or try your hand at buffing them.

Clear Plexiglass switch and gauge covers for 1991 Grady Sailfish

You're welcome. Based on what you're writing, it sounds like getting a piece of plexi and cutting to fit should be an easy, low cost way to do what you want.

Clear Plexiglass switch and gauge covers for 1991 Grady Sailfish

Are you referring to the flat piece of plexiglass? You should be able to source that around town and just cut it to fit. Plenty of places online where you can order small plexi sheets, too. Mcmaster is one that comes to mind - google will find lot's of sources.

Outboard options on ‘73 191 Atlantic Weekender

I downloaded the brochure from GW's site because I wanted to see what it looked like. A couple of my uncle's used to have some Chesapeake's or Nassau's - I don't remember well enough which ones. The Atlantic looks a lot like them, except a bit smaller and OB, instead of IO. Nice looking...

    Radio Face Missing

Looks like those tags don't show any manufacturer info. But... do you really want a radio/CD player? Would a radio with bluetooth work better? That's a standard sized hole in the dash and basic stereos with BT are not expensive, at all. Probably less than buying an old technology faceplate...

1st Time Slipped in a Marina.

Check this ratchet out... it would make tightening the "shade" very quick and easy as they could be used to tighten everything up AFTER you zip up and put the poles in. These could be in between the top of the poles and a grommet in your shade (or use them in the manner mentioned by Glacier)...

1st Time Slipped in a Marina.

Two biminis are done all the time with cruisers. I'm very familar with the setup on these as I used to have a 28' Sea Ray. You'll have a canvas shop sew a zipper along the aft edge of your existing bimini and the other half of the zipper along the front edge of your new bimini. Usually, the...

    Ready and Waiting

Waiting is the hardest part, right! I've shipped a number of boats out of that yard - that place is GIGANTIC! A couple thoughts (if you can have someone do this), since it looks like you're not having it shrink wrapped... -- Tape the VHF antenna down securely -- Tape the windshield wiper --...

    1997 yamaha 225 issue

Oh, I see what you are saying, now. How many times have you now done that successfully? Could be the LP's... maybe even an old/defective bulb. There are simple tests that can done for the LP's with a handheld vac gauge like a MityVac. I don't recall the specs off-hand, but they are listed...

    1997 yamaha 225 issue

Well, the LP's won't magically fix themselves. What could "magically" fix itself is a clog somewhere, possibly from the fuel items being replaced and dirt. Or even a partially clogged vent fitting... which was was one of the reasons for asking if the issue happened on both tanks (still not...

    222 fisherman prop

How old is the gas - and was it properly treated? To eliminate fuel quality, run the engine on a portable tank. That's easy enough to do and eliminates other variables, as well.

    1997 yamaha 225 issue

Engine now ran fine... in neutral? Or actually running the boat? Did the same thing happen on both tanks?

    222 fisherman prop

Try just you in the boat, with minimal gear and calm conditions. That eliminates a lot of variables. Next, it's not clear "how" you tweaked the trim... continue to trim up till the spped no longer increases or the prop starts to ventilate. The point right before that happens is your max. If...

    Brass/bronze seacocks

The only other material that is approved for below the waterline, by the way, is Marelon. Been over a month and the OP hasn't responded. Either he forgot about this, or he read and moved on without taking a few minutes to respond back.
