    Tournament 205 with Shore Power?

Shore power is a big expense. You need a breaker/panel,galvanic isolator, 30 amp plug, cable, outlets, wire, onboard charger. Not sure its worth it on a 20 footer. I ran a 20 footer for 18 years, slipped 6 months, one 27DP battery. Never charged it in the water once. Battery lasted about 5...

    1998 272 Sailfish Re-power

Zuke DF225T are only mechanical. Older design motors. You have to buy one counter rotating. The DF200AP and DF250AP can change rotation with a plug. IMO it is way worth it to get digital/flybywire controls. Its 2024 for godsake... like buying a car " ahh I don't need power windows and bluetooth...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

Never surrender! I'm a winner!:D found a painful access point in the head. Used a steel snake with an L bend to blindly pull it towards the hole Stuffed some foam sheet into the crevasse so it won't happen again...

    Horn Replacement ?

;) Unfortunately, in the last 30 years I've had enough of them torn apart to know they are all the same on the inside. They are just like a car horn but cars don't get sprayed with salt water in 3' to 5' blowing SW at 20kts. Did I ever tell you about Trailer lights?????:p

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

so. I saw it on the scope. Its at the bottom. no way to reach it. Its plastic so a magnet won't help. Choices are; Continue to waste time trying to reach it with little hope of getting it out Cut a hole in the foot rest, grab it, do a half assed patch and cover it with a new piece of black...

    Horn Replacement ?

you can't make a DC electric horn without a magnet and rustable iron or steel. You can wrap it in stainless and claim its "sealed".... Nobody has reinvented it. It was designed in the late 1800s. evrybody makes the same thing. The main flaw is the contact.

280 Marlin speed and fuel economy with 4 strokes

Your Zuke dealer should let you try those. They seem to be the generic starting point for their motors. They probably have them lying around. They started with them on my DF200APs (2.5:1 gear). Mind you, different boat and smaller motors..They said they didn't get the rpm they wanted and...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

Another one of those simple projects.... Spliced the ACR Guardian cable to the Suzuki kill switch. Went pretty well. Was able to work on the kitchen table. Extended the power feed with red & black. Going to run that to the fuse block. Gray to b/w (thru the plug) and brown to...

280 Marlin speed and fuel economy with 4 strokes

ya Dog, you have DF250Ts. They have a 2.3:1 gear ratio. They swing big props and yours are giant. You cannot compare them to Yammies(1.75:1) or Mercs or even the zuke DF250AP (2:1 gears) You might get 200 rpm per inch so maybe drop pitch to 3x16x20. Or you could drop diameter to 3x15 1/4 x...

    Horn Replacement ?

smack it with a wrench. The contact inside is rusty. They ALL suck. It happens to everyone. Don't buy a new one until smacking it doesn't work https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/horn.35498/post-254263

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

I took a look at a Yamaha diagram. They have three sets of black & white wires from the kill switch. You can get a multi engine harness from Fell that has three sets of black & white wires https://www.amazon.com/FELL-Marine-Multi-Engine-Harness-Engines/dp/B078H28VD9 ACR GUARDIAN also has a...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

Idk what the Yamaha assembly looks like but kill switches are pretty generic. If there’s only one kill switch, and you can get to the two wires connected to it , then it is as simple as that.

    Windshield Supports- 265X

Something so simple....riiiiight:rolleyes: Existing supports had "ZAMAC" feet. Zamac is an old Chinese word for "shitthatdontbelongonaboat" Chromed ZincAluminumMagnesium alloy. Grady used SS on every piece of hardware on this boat except those supports. You can't get off the shelf SS...

    258 Livewell drain hose replacement

This is the solution. Unscrew and remove the piece inside the livewell, the hose on the elbow underneath will keep that from spinning. The you will be able to bend the hose around and remove it from the elbow thru the port. Put the new hose on the elbow and line it up under the drain hole in...

    Hatch gas struts

shit. Just got the replacement. Hope it works OK just put it on. The #40 one works well. Holds the lid full open and will hold it halfway before it can't hold it from closing. Closes slowly.

    Hatch gas struts

Last season the strut on my livewell lid fell off. One of the ball mounts broke off. I left the strut laying aroung in the livewell (we use it a a clean ice/beverage cooler). "I was gonna" get around to ordering a new ball end/mount...someday... One day my brother was digging for a beer and got...

    Bottom Paint

very unusual. The hair on my neck is up. It makes me wonder... Are you sure the hull bottom was painted with Primocon & Trilux33? Who did that? Trilux is $350/gallon Primocon is an underwater metal primer. Trilux is often used (usually as a spray) on outdrives/outboards/trim tabs. It has no...

    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

You have DF250s so I can't say for sure yours looks like my DF200s so, as I said in the first post of this thread... "Zukes have an "extra" gear oil "vent" hole above the Oil Level hole. This actually allows you to fill from the Oil Level hole. We are all used to pumping up from the Drain hole...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

hehehe, well if you aren't adding 3 crew and its only you the pilot...I guess.. You still won't be able to easily see that you are still connected without looking in the head. I run offshore in the dark for hours. When I'm driving, I don't really have eyes on the crew. Motors and wind are loud...
