Now they are selling a battery called "Precision". Supposedly made in Kentucky. I never heard of this company. Are any of you using this battery? Sales clerk said it's not an economy battery. Just so you have some idea of their price point, it was $110 for a group 24 marine.

Thanks. Took your advice and spent the extra money for a known high quality company - Yamaha. Jeez, after all we're talking about boats. That hole in the water where you throw money, right? You think boats are bad, try owning an airplane.

I can't believe I need to ask this, because I can't believe I had a bulb fail inside of a year. What manufacturer makes a bulb that won't break in under a year? Can everything at Defender or West Marine be considered trustworthy? Thanks in advance.

Yeah unless you have a reaction inside from dissimilar metals and the reel blows up while you're pulling in a nice fat cow.

Thanks, gents. Much appreciated. The "boat fixer" I use has seen the old stuff. He said the analog guages will be fine. Used the Faria multifunction gauge with fuel and battery will work fine. Just wont be hooking up oil pressure leads in my 2 stroke. :eek:
