    265 Express

Did not know you presently own a Gulfstream. You are already used to a "beamy" boat in relation to LOA. It would feel odd, at least to me to return anything in the 8' whatever beam. At roughly a foot wider, times the combined length of the cockpit and helm area, yeilds a good bit of additional...

    265 Express

Son and I own a 2001 265. Purchased in 2010 and repowered with 2011 Merc 225 Optis counter rotation swinging 17 pitch 4 blade Rev 4's. Initially had 3 blade Mirage Plus but this boat is wide and heavy and bow steers badly (more on this coming), ventalation problems in very rough water offshore...

    New Here .... 265 questions

I pull our 265 with a gas 6.0 2500 HD and it works but by no means is it a breeze. A 3500,or a diesel 2500 would be a much better choice.

    New Here .... 265 questions

I have a 2001 265 with twin 2011 225hp Optis. Love it. Swings 17 inch 4 blade Rev props. Consistent burn at cruise is 1.7 to 2.0 mpg. WOT 50mph. If and when we launch signifcantly, the landing is stable and soft. The faster she goes the smoooother she gets. Very dry too. Grady really messed up...

    265 Express Livewell Questions

Haven't checked the seacock on the livewell pump to see if open or closed...good point. The starb. compartment on our 265 doesn't drain overboard??? There is a divider in it as well as a hatch at the bottom presumably to access the plumbing for the (non-existent) head's holding tank. Am going...

    265 Express Livewell Questions

Fished our 265 this past week on the ledge and got lucky with dolphin and our first blue marlin. Have been using the livewell as a cooler for drinks and food the past two seasons. The ice just doesn't last because the livewell apparently is not insulated. When you tap on the inside the walls...

    gas tank issues

To avoid twisting the screw head off, try the impact driver going both ways ie loosen and tighten, working the fastener in both directions. Just pulled both of mine on my 265 to drain older fuel. Those screws if they are like mine are not Phillips head but square driver style so stripping the...

    Cabin ceiling 06' Marlin

Have an 01 265 Express. Called Grady about the same problem two years ago and the manager of cust. relations/service told me he had never heard of the problem. When I mention this forum and names of people that posted that they had even been taken care of beyond warranty.,he reminded me that he...

265 Express Stern Corner Storage Bins

I need to find the storage bins/baskets that fit under the aft corner hatches. When I purchased the boat they were missing. I tried Grady White but they didn't have any and the manufacturer that made them for Grady no longer has a mold for the part. Anyone have even a cracked set that could be...

    2003 282 Transom issues

A couple of years ago I purchased a 2001 265 without power. Before hanging two new 225 optis I removed the cap (there was an unsealed gap) and found about a million dead red ladybugs. Vacuumed it all out and resealed/packed the gap with 5200, let cure and recapped it. minimal moisture had...

    hp on an express265

Repowered my 2001 265 with new 225 Optis and cruise at 30 to 32 getting 2.0 to 2.02 mpg with four onboard and about 125 gallons of fuel. Skyrockets on plane. WOT is about 48mph. Needless to say I am happy. I have always abided by the 80% rule. Anything less than 80% of max hp rating was...

    Grady 208 primer bulb

Was taking the OP's use of the word "flat" to mean not pumped up. What I believe you are interpreting as flat would be a primer ball being collapsed. With today's ethanol issues it could be an interior portion of hose that is collapsing or blocking a vent or supply line.

    Grady 208 primer bulb

Had a similar problem. I would come back to the boat after it sat dormant, maybe an hour or two and the primer balls were flat. It sounds like you are losing prime. Check connections for an air leak. Maybe a leak around a seal on the separator/fuel filter(s), hose clamps or brass threads at the...

    Trim Tab Sensitive 330

Thought I might have a warped hull when our 265 veered to port on one of our first shakedowns last year. When going offshore we now trim the engines pretty high to keep the bow up and use NO tabs if at all possible. We try to initially arrange coolers and anything heavy along the centerline and...

265 Express Folding Motorwell Door Catches

I eventually. used the same type stainless bolt that is under the folding seat on the port side near the helm. Mounted it on the upper transom panel just under the bolster.Thinking of putting a second one on the other side.

265 Express Folding Motorwell Door Catches

Has anyone had to replace the two spring loaded/ball bearing catches that hold up the transom door? If so where did they come from? Is there another solution to using them? Thanks in advance. Ray

265 Express Which Fuel Tank Cruising?

Just started going offshore on our 265. Last two trips had the MAIN tank filled (approx. 1000 lbs fuel) The Main is the forward tank. Since this hull is notorious for bow steering, wouldn't it make more sense to fill the rear most AUX. tank to allow easier bow lift? Would this cause the stern to...

    New 265 Express Owner

With the Merc 250's, what pitch prop are you using? I have twin 225 Opti's on my 265 with Mirage Plus 17's but when fully loaded feel like I might need to go down in pitch a little.
