Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Honestly, I'm not sure if they put a backing plate in there or not. The interior panels make it pretty difficult to see in there without some serious disassembly. I don't see any defection in the fiberglass if I wiggle the head.

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Sorry I took so long. I have 3 Deka DP27 (12v 800amp) and a minn kota charger for them. I have only used it once so far and we got at least 4 hours out of it. Planning on going out Sunday and I'll try to keep a better timer on it.

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Right around $8,000 for everything. Batteries, Battery charger, trolling motor, and mounting bracket. Legendary Marine here in Panama City Beach did the install.

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

We were in the 15 to 20 mile out range and it held my Marlin just fine. I'm sure I'll find the limit this summer and let you know. It was rough enough when we went out that we were one of the smallest boats we saw all day. Mostly 40' plus charter boats out that day.

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

I've always anchored or drifted over spots. While we were between boats my wife and I fished off friends boats with GPS anchored trolling motors. Well we bought the Marlin and the wife wanted a trolling motor on it. So, we got a trolling motor. The Rhodan 36V 96" shaft trolling motor works...

The salesman at the dealership said the previous (bought it new) owner was really detail orientated with the boat. I got the files with the boat so I have all the original manuals and (from what I can tell) receipts for everything except gas in there. I haven't checked the engines to see if it...

So the hull is dirty. We just got her home yesterday. A lot of small barnacles and general funk from being kept in a wet slip. Going to work on cleaning those off. The report I got said they topped out at 5,500 RPM's. The dealer did all the filters and fluids when they took her in on trade...

I guess that would help. It’s got the original 250’s. Not sure if there are different 250 options for the boat. I’m not sure on how it registers the speed. I’ll get that info tomorrow when I pick up the boat and post more pictures.

Just purchased a 2006 Marlin. Thanks to Capnjim7, Shannon C., and Knot On Call for the tips on things to look over and ask. Took it out on a sea trial and it ran great and mostly smooth on some pretty rough and choppy seas for the Gulf of Mexico. It's a big heavy boat but it handled like a...

    2006 300 Marlin

I was actually looking for a smaller boat but this one just came in that morning for a trade in. I was at the dealershipo the day before and brought the wife to look at a different boat which she shot down rather quickly. This one wasn't on the intake lot the day before so I believe them. It...

    2006 300 Marlin

Its a trade in at a local dealership. I'll ask if they can do the hull survey with a moisture meter of if that is a process they already do as part of their inspection.

    2006 300 Marlin

Possible new Grady-White owner and I have a few questions if anyone has the time and experience. I'm looking at a 2006 300 Marlin and I'm wondering what the common issues are that I need to look for when I look the boat over or on the sea trial specific to this model or year. I haven't really...
