Live Well on my 22 seafarer

There may be an antireverse valve fitting installed in line on the hose from the pump to the baitwell. You can withdraw the valve to see if there is water flow out of the pump and perhaps the issue is the valve..

Live Well on my 22 seafarer

I have that exact pump and it does not have to be primed 1-there should be a lever stopcock on that pipe under the pump. Be sure it is in the OPEN position 2-When you run the pump do you feel it running. If not, the problem is electrical (check breaker, wiring) 3-If it is running then take off...

    228 Scupper Question

I give the deck drains a B. The metal part is a bit higher than the deck so I had to dremel down to make it more flush. I should have dremeled down more than level so all the water would drain from the deck. A small amount still remains...

    228 Scupper Question

Totally agree on replaceing the hoses. I have always replaced mine regularly. Last year when I replaced my deck drains to stainless with black ball to stop backup is the last time I replaced drain hoses.

    228 Scupper Question

I agree they are redundant because I do have the ball that floats up. The scuppers were never a 100% water tight seal and they always impeded drainage from the deck much more so than the current deck drain with floating ball. So far. so good.

    228 Scupper Question

Every year I replace the 3 black rubber scuppers on the back of my 228, One is for the bait-well and the other 2 are the port and starboard deck drains. This year the boatyard launched my boat before I had a chance to install them so there are no scuppers installed at all. My port and starboard...

Looking for new set of canvas enclosure for 228

I know the windshield snaps can be moved along the rail but I was concerned about the snaps toward the back which are drilled in the fiberglass. I would want to attach the mating snap o the boat.

Looking for new set of canvas enclosure for 228

And just to be clear. I am not referring to a winter cover. I am looking for the 7-8 pieces that enclose the cockpit on a 228 with hardtop. I would think the best way to do this is to have it send without snaps and attach the snaps on the boat. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Q about Lewmar Pro Series 700 in Seafarer

I have 200 feet of 8-plait in there. It's tight sometimes if I use the majority of it and when it is retrieved the rope will pile on itself and might need a nudge to push overt the pile. Go with the 200....
