    No wood? Not true.

I thought it was just transom and stringers.

I need new Batteries for my 228

Great, that answers my question. I keep my boat out of the water with no draw on the batteries. I have the ACR breaker that I trip so I think in theory there is not draw. Battery charge has not been an issue until the one died.

I need new Batteries for my 228

Appreciate your insight on this. What are your thoughts on a solar battery maintainer, good or bad? Thanks

I need new Batteries for my 228

I'm on the Oregon coast, so heat is not an issue. Sounds like I should just go with the starting batteries. Thanks

I need new Batteries for my 228

The Centennial's are a dual purpose batteries that my local marine store carries. I am not thrilled with them as I had one stop holding a charge after a few months (replaced under warranty). We are going into the 3rd season for them and I guess I expected a bit more time. I normally have my...

I need new Batteries for my 228

I am needing to replace my batteries in my 228 as one of them will not hold a charge and I do not trust the other. I am currently running group 24 centennial rv/marine batteries which only lasted 3 seasons. They barely meet the specs for a 2001 ox66 225 hp motor. What are you guys running in...

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

My only concern is if you get some sort of debris stuck in there, it's going to be a pain to clear. Other than that, it looks like a viable solution.

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

I get them from amazon, sounds like it might be time. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XH12Y7N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My through hulls are bronze, not plastic like the ones pictured in the link.

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

No, you just replace the flapper.

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

Interesting, here is what I replace mine with. I think it is worth a shot, since it's so easy and only a few dollars. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XH12Y7N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

Lucky, I replace the black perko flaps in the scupper every year. I know it might sound excessive, but those things dry out and do not seal well then. I get a tiny bit of water but not enough to ever worry about.

    Deck Drain/Hose Replacement - 225 Tournament

I just replaced my deck drains on my 228 as the original drain pipes where split. What a pain in the A$$ but totally doable and necessary. I also replace the hose clamps on all other through hole fittings as several were rusted off. I went ahead and replaced them with the current stainless...

ideas for more fish storage on 226 Seafarer?

On my 228, you can put 8-10 albacore depending on the size in the hold behind the drivers seat with plenty of ice. You can get 4-6 behind the passenger seat with ample ice. I have put 3 40-46" halibut in the one behind the drivers seat with ice. I also carry 2 reliable bags that will hold...

    Garmin software update

I bought the G3 vision card for the west coast (Oregon) and it is fantastic. I was using the navionics on my phone before, but having it on the chart plotter is a real bonus for me. It is very accurate as far as showing bottom structure / shading when I have compared it to my charts. What I...

I just ordered a graphics kit for my 2000 seafarer 228 from my closest dealer in Seattle. I will let you know the cost once it gets here in the next week of so.

    TheHullTruth

As stated before, if you are after technical information and are very specific, there is a great amount of information available by some. I have had outstanding service by Semperfi who sells electronics that is a world of knowledge if you reach out. Like and any form, there are a select few...

Not a grady question but you guys know a bunch so

Lucky, You should look at a Ocean Sport Roamer 30, if you want a boat that can haul a$$ in most condition and be super economical. I fished 41 days last year out of Garibaldi OR. or Illwaco Wa. One port you have to cross the Columbia bar and the other you cross the Tillamook bar. I have...
