All good info up above. I believe the base motors on these boats were 150s. Max is 230hp, so you can put a 225 on there. With a 150, you'll be fine, just won't top out as fast. Might still get 35-38mph though.

Your boat looks clean without any bottom paint. You should list your old trailer on cl and fb for a grand. It'll sell, especially this time of year when people are looking for trailers when they get out of their slips. I sold my old single axle trailer last fall for $800.

I think it also depends on how much you are trailering the boat. Russ, are you putting the boat in and out at the ramp each time you use it or keeping it in a slip?

Yea maybe b/c it was at low tide. B/c of the risk of losing it all, I always keep my truck in 4wd, and chock the left front wheel when I'm loading and off loading just in case. I wouldn't attempt pulling my boat out with a 2wd.

Yea true, you gotta watch the free ramps and the ones that are super cheap, they're usually shallow. It sucks to have the rearend of your truck soaking in saltwater too from having to back in so far. You ever launch out of Atlantic Highlands? Pretty nice there and real wide too.

For that big a boat, you need a cable.

I bought an older LoadRite dual axle for my Overnighter, cleaned it up, painted it and put all new rollers on it and winch. I launch out of Trader's Cove in Brick, NJ with little to no probs. Nice concrete ramp there.

Cut the silicone caulk with a razor knife around the perimeter, take deck plate off to help lift it out. Do what you need to do under there, and use the GE silicon clear all around after your done screwing it down. I took someone's idea of using masking tape on both sides of the seam before...

No, you should get atleast 40mph. Make sure its trimmed properly or make sure prop not slipping. Check compression too.

Can't you use a standard flaring kit on those? And use a union in the middle to connect them to your existing lines.

Grease the shaft after you get it off and put the new one on. You probably know that already tho.

I also like to check and compare Google Maps or the BoatUS App against my GPS for accuracy. Not sure how my much that'll help at night, but defintely lay some dryrun tracks down on your GPS during the day first. Oh and no radio checks on Ch 16!

Thanks, I was wondering if I do that, will it clunk going into forward and reverse, and would that be bad for the gears? Did you adjust this at the cable or one of the linkage adjustment screws?

Wondering why it would happen intermittently? If cable was misadjusted and sync and lync was off, wouldn't it miss and idle incorrectly all the time? Someone mentioned plugged idle jets too, same deal why would it run good in the beginning and then have a problem once warmed up? Thx
