Clean under old cap, seal with 5200, replace with new vinyl cap from Grady. Done and costs less then $20 and can still flex when hammering down lol. Oh, and looks factory.

I know crazy right? I took mine off and sealed the fiberglass with 5200. Then replaced it with what they use today to look oem. Doesn’t warp or anything from the sun and looks clean and same color as gel coat.

O ok got out there at 7. Sand eel umbrella and red and green tubes at every depth. Bunker spoon and mojo rigs till noon and only dig fish. Even snag and drop on bunker but was swarming with spiny sharks like they were green heads. eh here is to next weekend. What inlet r u out of? Manasquan?

Same from barnegate inlet to ortley beach. Didn’t hear much else going on the radio. On the ride home found huge bunker pod with nothing but spiny dogfish all over them. skunk, did you hear that guy on 68 with the vhf keyed all morning?

I liked the write up. Finally a 228 person that can realize and admit why all the new Grady freedoms and CC don’t have brackets. They are great but for straight nasty weather the motor on hull can really shine. I’ve been on both and 2 foot less waves the 228 flies and gets better gas mileage...
