    welding hardtop support

Looks like I have a second weld in my hardtop support tubing that is breaking. The first came with the boat, the second seems to have started recently. Not sure how this should be handled. Steel no prob, I would repair it myself, aluminum not so fast. Looking for advice. thanks

So after 100 hrs I am thinking that I am just not getting enough rpm at WOT. Seems like no matter what conditions or load the best I can get is 5200 on port and 5150 on starboard and a max top end of 40mph. 280 Marlin with 2022 df250 Suzukis. Currently running 3x16x21.5 props from dealer. I...

    trailer set up

Getting ready to pull my boat 280 Marlin for 100 hr service. Only going from the ramp to the parking lot and back to the water. Using a recently rebuilt trailer of a good friend which is rated to hold the boat. My question is setting up the wench post dimension. Is there a length from the...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

“If we were in some kind of a catastrophic, grid down type of situation with no Internet [as occurred during Hurricane Katrina in 2005], a couple of AM stations can almost cover the entire country to get information out,” Toenniessen says. Hmmm got some room in my radio box upgrade panel, maybe...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

Not trying to be a pita here but that diagram shows only one ignition key. Do not the AP models have two ignition switches like my manual model. I believe that is where I started to run into trouble.

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

I bought the acr-olas when I had the old motors and thought like you one kill switch for both motors. Turns out it is one retainer clip but behind the helm was a very tight and complex unit with wires everywhere. Bottom line a dual engine kit was needed to make the installation, which I did...

    Galvanic Isolator replacement

I did same after eliminating all ac on the boat. Pulled the old one out from under gunnel and put the promariner high up in the battery compartment on port side. Eliminated the twist lock plug on starboard side and put standard covered male input recessed under port gunnel. I have the...

    Insulation

the box is fine sides and bottom, except that small bit I had to take out to change out the battery charger. only a boat designer would put in the battery charger and then put spray foam blocking it in. I think i will use foam board and paint with latex as they say can be done.

    Insulation

Attached is image of the cover to my live well. The live well is most often used as a fish box and is insulated fairly well on sides and bottom. The cover is about 1 in deep and as you can see uninsulated. Hoping for ideas how to insulate this area and hopefully keep ice better in the summer.

    Suzuki DF200AP maintenance tips

Gotta ask, manual states you can use a NMMA FC-W rated oil, does not say API/SN. Reading shows FC-W starts at API rate then adds additional additives for marine environment. I mean if you are still under warranty ??? just curious
