GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

Starting a thread here to document my live underwater camera. This is my Winter project for fishing in clear water in the Keys. I searched for cameras and came up nothing I liked. The GoPro is a high quality inexpensive camera but it's really an action camera. It can be adapted to work but isn't...

Garmin Navionics Vision+ Shaded relief vs. CMOR shaded relief

Did a quick compare of Garmin Navionics Vision+ Shaded relief vs. CMOR shaded relief. I don't have a CMOR unit so I grabbed images I could locate off CMOR site. Needless to say I'm not impressed! No CMOR for me.

I'm opening this thread for a PM since I can't send photos. Tight fit. This is before it was caulked in. All fasteners were carefully installed from behind. Couple of screws hidden under top edge of the unit. Top edge was padded out with 1/2" starboard. Nice clean flush mount install.

    Life expectancy of Yamaha F150's

I have a pair of 2006 Yamaha F150's with 2,100 hours. I wanted to ask if anyone has run a pair to end-of-life and what their experience was. Do they just get tired? Or do they grenade at some point? Right now the engines still perform like new. Only interested in comments from members with first...

    Invasion of the AI BOT's

These threads are getting ridiculous. Someone opens up the thread and 15 posts come in without any response from the original member. Everyone commenting and negotiating against themselves. All silly speculation. Give the original member a chance to get back and go from there. If there is not...

    Garmin 9000 Series

Garmin finally made the jump to 4k screens. 19", 22", 24" and 27". Twice the lines and twice the column - 4x the resolution of 8612 unit. Good thing it's too big for my console! Well maybe I could squeeze the extra 0.6"of height in... $9,900 though...

    Tinning Corroded Wire

Replacing connectors on my fuel tank sending unit. Factory wiring not tinned copper - raw copper. Keep stripping back and all I get is black wire. Common problem on the GW's. 268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

Decided that this is the year to replace my 25 yo fuel tanks. No leaks. I plan to keep the boat. I'll document the process here. Pulled the hatch. This hatch was rebuilt a few years ago with Coosa board. Looks good and feels solid. Hatch was set with 3M 4000 - kept everything sealed. Some...
