Awlgrip Repair & Advice On Settling A Mishap

I went and took a look at the damage and have included links to pictures. There is a scratch on the port side (about 8-9 inches long that catches your finger nail), the 4 inch smudge and 1/2" chip on the starboard side, and there are two cracks to the starboard gunwale, each about 4-5". How bad...

    Fuel Tank Source in NC

My 1977 204c has a ruptured gas tank (as is evident by the gasoline in my bilge), which is no great surprise at 37 years old. I've been meaning to change out this tank for a while anyway, at the suggestion of the members of this forum, since Does anyone know of a good source for a new tank in...

Awlgrip Repair & Advice On Settling A Mishap

I appreciate all of the advice. I'm going to go get some pictures of the damage (it was so insignificant in my mind that I didn't do this when it happened), call his insurance company, and then go get a quote for the repairs.

Awlgrip Repair & Advice On Settling A Mishap

I was thinking the same thing, but he said he can get the work done at cost, and if I do this and don't offer to pay his deductible, he may just take it to the best yard in town and give his insurance co a $6k bill...and for that they may come after me.

Awlgrip Repair & Advice On Settling A Mishap

That's about why I had in mind. The question is, what would that repair cost? This fella is a fanatic and wants his brand new paint job back. He has many connections in the industry and says he can get the work done at cost and probably come out with a new paint job for $2000 and be happy. I...

Awlgrip Repair & Advice On Settling A Mishap

Gentlemen, While pulling my boat (a "vintage" 1977 204c) out of the water at the boat launch, to end a fantastic memorial day weekend, the flooding tide and wind conspired against me, and before I could move to the stern to fend off, it pushed the corner of my stern rub rail against the boat...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

it appears to be a strainer(screen) to catch sediment in the tank from going into the fuel feed line. Exactly - it's a small screen that fits within the pickup tube that is held in place by the elbow that is threaded onto the top of the pickup tube. I guess the idea was to keep large sediment...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy HA I say, a new tank!?! After once again going through the motions of replacing all of the lines and ensuring all of the filters were clear, I attempted to drive a coat hanger down the pickup tube to clear it out. As I suspected, it...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy That is the other possible culprit on my list - I'm going to ream out the pickup tube with a stiff wire and see if I run in to anything.

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy Anti-siphon - that's that nugget of genius I was looking for. That's basically the only piece of the fuel system that I haven't cleaned, reamed or replaced, and at around 35 years old, I bet it's crusty. Any need to replace it with...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy I'd say both are equally capable of making your day a bad one--while an empty tank is just highly volatile vapors, a 1/2 full tank is 1/2 highly volatile vapors and 1/2 highly combustible liquid that will produce more highly volatile...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy I pulled the lines off just before the primer bulb yesterday so I could connect an external tank to run her over to the boat ramp to pull her out of the water. Before I connected the external tank I hit the electric primer pump for a...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Gents, While I am new to this forum, I've been on the water my entire life and I've been the proud owner of a classic 1977 Grady White 204-c overnighter since 2006. And ever since I've owned her I've been plauged by chronic fuel flow issues. The previous owner (I am the third) had her for...
