There is a lot of choice. The main question is, do you want to store the anchor on the roller while you are underway or will you be putting it back into anchor locker?
I got my pulpit, bow rail and mounting hardware through my local Grady Dealer. I had it modified to take a 323 through pulpit anchor roller. I Added the stainless plate myself. In 2022 the pulpit was AUD$2940. With the 228 being discontinued I don’t know if they are still available. The 323...
I'm planning on installing the Seakeeper Ride 450 early in the new year. I was tossing up getting an electronics upgrade or fitting the Seakeeper Ride. I am often running one and a half to 2 hours out to the fishing grounds in less than ideal conditions. So i decided to go with a bit more comfort.
I have a 2006. There is a 10gal fresh water tank under the passenger’s seat. The space in front of the main tank is for the 56 gal auxiliary fuel tank. If you are looking for a tank for fresh water here are the dimensions for the auxiliary fuel tank. You will want to take an inch of the width as...
I have been caught out a few times. I headed out to the heavy tackle grounds about 40 miles out in the 17ft cc. The forecast was 15kn dropping to 5kn. Instead it picked up to 25-30kn. Was a slow wet trip but never felt unsafe.
I consider my 228 an offshore boat. I started out with a 9ft punt and an ancient 4hp motor heading 2-3 mile offshore. Next a aluminium 15ft cc with a 40hp out to 20 miles. Then a 17ft aluminium cc with a 90hp out to 40miles. The only restriction for the 228 is range. Thinking of putting in the...
I used Wiiliam Coble when I imported my 228 to Australia. Very thorough.

Don’t try to do it by hand. You will need a random dual action polisher taking a 6” pad. Much less chance of burning the gel coat than with a single action polisher if you aren’t experienced .
If the gel coat is quite oxidised then a use heavy cutting compound with a heavy cutting pad like...
I'm using Tonic Sunglasses. They are photo chromatic, polarised in a copper tint lens. They are also prescription.
They really accentuate the colors on the MFDs and are much easier to see the screens than my last pair.
There are a lot of good fishing glasses out there.
I use Rip Charts premium. It has sea surface temp, altimetry, currents, chlorophyll, true color which are the main things I use. Also salinity, sub-surface temps, SST forecast and bathymetry. You can add waypoints. Does all I need it for.
