Buying boat from Out of State, and having it shipped? Has anybody done it ?

Same here, I sold my first/second boats and wanted to find something bigger, heavier and nicer. Looked at Grady White as well as Parker, Pursuit, Boston Whaler and a few other different brands of boats. I really liked the Grady White 228 Seafarer/232 Gulfstream as well as the Parker 2320, but...

Buying boat from Out of State, and having it shipped? Has anybody done it ?

I live in the Seattle area and have bought 3 different boats over about a 4 year period, all of which oddly enough were located in Maryland, and then I did the road trip myself to pick up each one. In regards to the purchase itself... the first and last boats were from dealerships/brokers and...

Lost trim tab flap – 1999 Grady-White 306 Bimini – OEM part reference needed

Per the Grady White parts catalogue for 2004, I can't find one that's older than that, it shows the 306 Bimini as having a part number of 18-511 and being a 12"x20" trim tab. When doing a quick Google search for "trim tabs 18-511", it appears as though they're likely Bennett brand trim tabs. I...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

I would. They should have a copy of the performance bulletin with more specific numbers like gallons of fuel onboard during the test. Let us know what you find out.

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Eh, I'm going to go with the wet weight of the boat on an actual scale taken from the sea trial run from the manufacturer, as opposed to adding up dry weights, other numbers, guessing at certain things and so forth. On their website, GW has a figure of just under 9,400 lbs for the 285 Freedom...

Question for Grady Owners for older boats 1997 are so

Are you looking at the 1997 Grady White 208 Adventure on Boat Trader located in Brooklyn? If so, it says that the motor runs great? If not, might want to check it out. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/1997-grady-white-adventure-208-10107184/

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Yes.... but that wet weight is from the Grady White website, of which we can only guess the number of gallons of fuel that they had on board during that sea trial run. My guess is that they likely had the lowest amount possible in order to be able to get the best fuel economy numbers possible...

Question for Grady Owners for older boats 1997 are so

I think they're possibly quoting two different things/years... in I believe 1997 Grady White switched from standard marine grade plywood to a product called Greenwood XL. It's supposedly a far superior product compared to your standard marine grade plywood at resisting water/rot, though it...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Doesn't seem like it would be an issue if the boat wasn't full of fuel and completely loaded down. That being said, I'd call up the manufacturer and see what they recommend, if anything. I think my biggest concern would be the width though, as your previous boat was an 8'6" beam and your new one...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Do you already have a lift and are wondering if it will be up to the task at hand of lifting your new boat? Or are you looking at buying a new lift and trying to determine which size you need? If the the former, then I'd imagine a lift with a 10k lb capacity would be able to lift up the test...

    Engine bracket inspection cover replacement

Something like this possibly? I don't know, hard to tell without seeing the top portion of the inspection plate. https://thmarinesupplies.com/products/designer-series-screw-down-deck-plates?variant=462169341980

    Grady Marlin Livewell gas shock

It looks like per the 2007 parts catalogue that it should be an Ameritool 10-296 pneumatic shock, which shows as a 10-30#. I'd obviously call up Ameritool to confirm, as a quick Google search doesn't show any new products with that same part number, as it's likely an older or discontinued one...

Swapping out F250 Yamaha for BT350 Honda

Dang, that thing looks massive on the back of the boat. Does she clear with regards to the cowling and the back of the bait table? Congrats on the repower.

    Live scope

The PS30 transducer per the Garmin site says it's good down to 300', though I imagine since it doesn't specify whether that's saltwater or freshwater... that it's likely freshwater, and that saltwater would probably only be good to about half that depth, or maybe even less. If the PS30 was good...

Swapping out F250 Yamaha for BT350 Honda

Hopefully that's accurate, as Honda always seems like, at least around here, that they're in last place in terms of preference, pricing, availability, etc. The top 3 seem like they're Yamaha by a long shot, then probably Suzuki with a slight edge over Mercury? It's pretty rare that I see a Honda...

Swapping out F250 Yamaha for BT350 Honda

I don't have that information and can't find anything about it on Google, so it's a little bit difficult to compare. There is a performance data sheet for a 251 Coastal Explorer with a single F300 available on the Grady White website, it has a heavier dry weight compared to your boat and...

    Live scope

I haven't personally done it before. I was considering adding the transom mounted Panoptix transducer to my boat at the time I purchased her coming up on almost 5 years ago now. But at the time, the Panoptix was only rated to I believe 200' in depth, and that was in freshwater. In saltwater...

Swapping out F250 Yamaha for BT350 Honda

I mean... I'd hope that you'd be getting above 3 mpg, as I just saw a performance data sheet on a 257 Advance with a single F250 on it, and the optimum cruise was @ 4k rpm, burning 9.1 gph of fuel and getting 3.01 mpg. If that boat, which is likely quite a bit underpowered, can do it then I'd...
