    Fuel level measurement

You can measure but remove the pink wire first and do not apply 12 volts to the sender or pink wire. That will fry the sender. Testing the resistance may not give enough info to validate the sender since unless you pull it out and manually swing/slide the float, you don't know what it should be...

    Forward Bilge pump float question

The pumps two modes of operation are individually fed. The manual mode gets power from the accessory bus which is live when the battery switch is on. The auto float mode on the other hand gets its power directly off of the battery, a separate wire to the battery with an inline fuse. This wiring...

    Fuel level measurement

The bottom of the 208 is rarely level and changes if you go aft ( 3 or 4 feet,) The fuel level at the sender can change a lot as the boat's pitch changes. Motoring with the bow up will give a gas reading that can change by 10 gallons or more when the bow drops. Likewise a pitched up bow can...

    Canyon Key Fob

I am guessing: Look at the side seams for a groove that a coin like a quarter would fit. Insert the coin and twist. You may need to remove the metal spiral key ring. Do you have the factory Yamaha security system?

    Scupper hoses

Key question is whether the scuppers are under the water or above the water line.

    Scupper hoses

If the hose were to break, would water flood the bilge? Probably not since the scuppers rely on gravity and a downward slope to drain. They are not normally under pressure. My point is that a leak in a hose probably would be a low threat event. Taping is a thought but if you can't reach the hose...

    Bow eye hook crack

I stand semi-corrected:) Does that Sea Ray fact apply to all hull sizes? At my club, there are limited examples of SeaRays and those tend to be larger hulls ( 30 + ft)

    Bottom paint

Depending on what primer was or wasn't used on the bracket, the copper based antifouling may not be an issue. If the bracket was not primed and was painted with just copper based paint, I would expect electrolysis activity especially if used in salt water.

    Bow eye hook crack

That area was fixed before and apparently not correctly. First step is to inspect the inside of the anchor locker. Is there structural metal bracing that has corroded or come loose? Is there lifting ring on the top of the deck above the anchor locker? I can't make out what the starboard side of...

    Low Idle speed question

You can't assume that both engines had the problem at the same time since it is possible that the previous owner had the problem at different times and didn't fix the motors, just lived with it. When you got the boat, you 'inherited' the problems Measuring the fuel pressure is a good start. The...

    Leaving the group

I sold my Grady a while back and bought a non Grady boat. I asked about the forums position anf if I should leave it. I got a lot of support from members that said that staying a member was fine. perhaps you have experiences to add, perhaps you have common parts like electronics or engines...

    Replacement of small pin

On the boats I have owned, the rotating ( swiveling ?) is controlled by a knob you turn to loch the seat to the pedestal. The spring loaded pin is often there to lock the seat height position.. I don't know if that applies to your seat but take a look for knobs that turn ( or should turn)

Yamaha F250 what model year is this?

Yamaha does not put manufacture dates on engines anymore and hasn't for quite some time. Certified dealers do have access to date by serial number information.

Looking for some advice on lift

1 by 5 doesn't sound right to me. The 4 x 6 is probably better assuming the 4 inch edge is what the hull rests on. Depending on how the bunks are attached to the lift, doubled up 2 x 6 would probably ne OK ( actual size, 3 x 5 1/2 approx.) The bunks on a trailer take a harder beating due to...

Diagnose of knocking sound, advice appreciated

could be a lot of things but my first thought is a bad rod, piston/bearing. Try running with one plug wire disconnected and see if the noise level drops. If it does for a specific cylinder, most likely you have a problem in that cylinder.
