    engine flush 209

The hose would not be super thin. The normal stub hose of the flush port is 5/16 in or 3/8 inch. It is a soft pliable rubber hose. not like fuel line. For the Reverso system, the short flush hose is eliminated and the new long hose is connected under the cowling to where the flush hose was...

    engine flush 209

A plugged telltale will not affect water flow for flushing. It's purpose is purely to give you a visual indication that the pump is working when the motor is down in the water as well as 'usually' an indication that water is flowing due to the flush hose flow. If the water flow volume is too...

    Raising ski pylon

I believe that if the shaft is not pressed down, the catch won't release. You might want to place something softish like a piece of wood on the shaft and give that some loving whacks with the hammer. Or better said, the shaft should normally have some play ,up and down a little bit.

    engine flush 209

Not installed on my 200s, flush using the typical cowl mounter, pain in the neck to get to' fitting. There are options though. The Reverso system is an option although it has a terrible reliability reputation. In that option, there is a controller that gets programmed for the flush cycle. I...

    engine flush 209

Its not so much water pressure as it is volume. Long hoses, small diameter hose, or using retractable 'squishy' hoses may not present sufficient water volume to reach the tell tale port. If when in the water the tell tale is normal, a plugged port is very unlikely

    Late May Nor'easter

It must have been some storm for the hull to ride over a floating dock. I am sorry you had so much damage but at least the boat didn't submerge. There is only so much you can plan for.

Broken anti-siphon valve on a Tournament 192, how do I get the pickup tube out?

On a side note, I looked up brass anti siphon valves and in the description for a Moeller , it said that for motors under 200 hp, aluminum is the norm but for 200hp and up, the ASV has to be brass. I didn't know that.

    Late May Nor'easter

Glad it worked out. I assume your slip is fixed and not floating. Your biggest weakness was your lines. In particular the bow line port side is too short and too tight. During normal tidal swings it works OK but in the case of storm surge, the higher water raises the hull but the slip doesn't...

Broken anti-siphon valve on a Tournament 192, how do I get the pickup tube out?

My thought exactly. You might find the correct extractor in a plumbing supply store, I really dont think the hex nut is supposed to move if you really want to remove the pickup tube.

    04 Marlin A/C not Cool

You would be better off using a qualified technician to diagnose and repair you unit. It may be a low charge or it could be a lot more causes. Without knowing what refrigerant your unit takes, I can't say if you would find it in an autoparts store ( and as I said, you shouldn't be looking for...

20 year old varnish in tank 208

Just as a heads up, if you pump out a sample and let it sit, you should see two layers, water and gas. If you see 3 layers, you have phase separation and the gas has to be disposed. Using the gas from phase separation can seriously damage your motor.

20 year old varnish in tank 208

So how did you confuse varnish with water? If the tank is half full of water, I suggest you pull the sender and use a hand pump to siphon/pump out the water on the bottom of the tank. You should be able to tell by color and smell when you got most of the water and when yu are pumping gas. The...

    Tank Replacement (New Member)

It is very important to inspect the rods for scratches, corrosion, damage etc. The smallest imperfection can result in a leak. If you can feel it, it may leak with new seals.

    Dual gas input issues

Did you add a treatment for the winter layup? If so did you happen to use a separate bottle for each tank:) Sometimes captains unknowingly leave the cap seal on the fuel treatment bottle and if flows down the fill line and clogs the flow. I highly doubt you would do that to both tanks. It is...
