Well, I came across a 1981 204-C Overnighter. Looks to be in decent shape. Was under a cover outside its whole life. Recent power upgrade. BEFORE I purchase it, what should I look for? There are a few dings here and there, but they seem to be superficial. I live in South Lousyana and is there a good dealership I can bring it to? Many thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

It was repowered with what engine?

Moisture in the transom, leaky fuel tanks, and electrical are areas of concern in the old boats.

Agree with CJ, and... the deck. Check everywhere on the deck, especially around any inspection plates. Just walk around and check for weak spots.

If I'm not mistaken, those early 80's models had some kind of floor covering, up around the helm area, that was different from the cockpit area. I think they were even more prone to water intrusion problems.

Might want to play it safe and just get a survey.
