I am considering a 1996 248 Voyager with 225 Yamaha extremley clean. I have had 2 different 24 Albemarles. I have yet to sea trial and wanted to get opinions on this boat. Any problems? Is the hard top bolted through? Is the 225 Yamaha adequate power? How is the offshore ride?

Jay T I own a 1996 Voyager and it is the first Grady I have owned or been on. I know some on this site will say it's not layed out well for fishing but I don't know any difference. I bought mine last July and love it.
The ride is good to me and it handles rough seas well as I have learned to slow down. A friend on this site "JUMPNJACK"and his sailfish and I followed each other about 30 miles out in some pretty rough seas and fished all day no problems. I'm new at the offshore or even all salt water fishing.
Mine has the fold down canvas top and the 225 johnson oceanrunner has plenty power for me but I can't answer the bolt through question.
My Voyager was also very clean and I updated to a new HF radio and a 4208 Garmin plotter. My family and I love this boat.
