bought a 1997 208 three years ago. When I first saw the boat it was almost pink looking.The only reason that I bought the boat was it was repowered in 2008 with a f200 yamaha and a 9.9 high thrust yamaha.Also no bottom paint. As I started to think about what I wanted to do to the boat I looked at the new 208"s and decided to model some of my restration work to have my boat look like those.Went to tap plastics and had the switch plate and all the side panel"s and box cover remade,also I cut in my marine radio into the dash .used the electronics box for my custom sterero ,found a complete canvas set on line-cheep (guy got a hard top)
One I noticed after using the boat was that the sea cocks were always wet.I figured that the motors were more weight and i put 4- 80 lbs sacks of sand in the bow compartments ,the boat rides like a dream.After a lot of buffing I am ready to post some pics.just had the gunnel & rear seat pads re done ,boat came with nothing.Was looking for new pads for my helm seats,Grady is so lame on replacement parts for there boats.the 208 has not changed 1995-2014 same basic boat so I call the Grady dealer and first question is what year,seats,hardware etc.thay don't have it.And if thay do have it big$.Gunnell pads and now new seat pads were made locally .If any of you guys have some in put let me know,Its my first Grady,Love the boat.I think my interior lay out kicks Ass.
