I have a 1997 Marlin without a generator. If you tell me where yours was installed I will tell you what I have in that spot.

1997 Marlin;Generator gone out

Hi Lainie J
Beginning to think no one had this issue, I had been trying to come up an idea of more gas or a fish box ???? But generator was in the stern under seat. did not know they had placed them any where else.

Marlin question

Hello Bobcat,
I have a 1,000 watt inverter mounted just port and forward of the 4 batteries. I have four strokes so I don't need any additional fuel.

Bobcat,
My setup is a little different, but our boats are basically the same. I purchased three plastic totes that slide through the opening and I keep them in that area. They are filled with spare parts, ancor line, extra fishing tackle, etc. The totes are certainly not waterproof, but they are pretty good at keeping stuff dry. If you go this route, measure the opening first, not many totes fit in that odd size opening.
