Hello all
I just got a new to me GW 209 with a 2019 200 yammie. Any one with this setup? What prop size and pitch are you running? Currently I have a stainless 3 blade prop with no numbers. I am looking for a better hole shot and plane quicker. I was thinking a 4 blade but wanted some insight from guys/gals that already are running it. Btw, I don’t have trim tabs.
TIA

A 200 hp ( 4 stroke I presume) should be plenty of power for that hull. What year is the hull? You may have additional weight aft that affects the performance. What are your WOT revs and speeds? Speed should be measured by GPS not by the speedo n the dash. The numbers for the prop may be stamped on the inside of the hub on or on the casting but if so, you will have to remove the prop to read them.
How far down in the water is the anti-ventilation plate?
I wouldn't change props until you get all the data.

Hey Seasick
The motor is plenty of by power. The bow rides high until it gets on plane which is about 18 mph. I am also thinking of getting trim tabs

If there is extra weight aft or the motor is mounted too deep, if the ventilation plate is too low at rest, the stern will suck down under power and that will raise the bow. Experiment with different trim settings of the motor to see if that helps.
What year hull? what hole is the motor mounted in?

With 200HP, my "guess" would be that you're either not starting out with the trim all the way down or are going to gentle/slow with the throttle (or both).

Trim tabs will NEVER hurt - but that's not the issue at hand. The hull needs to be spotless, as well.

Along with what's already been mentioned, if you can get the WOT RPM's well into the engine's spec range and the speed is about right, then your prop is good. Otherwise, as mentioned, go ahead and pull it off and check the numbers.

Should be the same as on a 20 Overnighter with a Yamaha F200, which runs best with a stainless 19 pitch prop. Tried and proven.

Don’t think you’ll need trim tabs.
