I don't have any personal experience, just going off what the Grady White website says, which is that the maximum horsepower rating for that hull is 400 hp. That would make me think that twin 115's at only 230 hp total is just barely over half of that, and that seems like it would leave quite a bit to be desired. I'm sure it "could work" in some situations but if you're fishing or boating in potentially nasty weather or conditions, I'd definitely want the extra power and think that twin 150's would be the absolute minimum that you'd want for that boat. I'm sure someone else will come along and give you some firsthand experience, that being said my 228 Seafarer has a single Yamaha F225 on it. Comparatively, the 232 Gulfstream you're mentioning only has 5 more hp yet is a much bigger, heavier boat and one that has twin motors on it, which is only going to add more to the total weight. Long story short, I think it's going to be a pretty heavy yet underpowered boat.
I think it would be underpowered. To be honest though, it depends on what you want to get out of the boat.
If I were looking at a 232, 150 4 strokes would be the minimum. F200s would be a very nice arrangement.
I don't know if it's true or not, but i was told the Minium horsepower on a boat shout be 80% of max rating, so if it's rated at 400, 80% of that is 320.
I had a 232 with a single 250 it was underpowered esp in rough seas trying to stay on top of the waves go w 200’s if you can find/afford them they weigh the same as 150’s and you wont have to run as high rpms for same speed
