Good morning i recently buy a 2000 Bimini 306 I am on the market for GPS i would like to know what's the capacity for a pair thanks ?

sorry i meant in terms of size, I have in mind the Garmin's 1243xsv a pair of those if they fit there thank you

Ah, OK. That makes more sense! :)

So, I don't have your boat, but I'm not foreign to doing this kind of thing. So, every 12" GPS brand/model is going to be slightly different in it's sizing - even a "new" model Garmin 12" may differ from a previous version.

The best way to make sure you are happy is to download the manual (or at least the installation manual, if it's separate). In there will be the actual/correct dimensions for the specific model you're looking at. It will have both the case dimensions and the cut-out sizes. Make a template to match that and then take them to the boat and see if they will fit.

thank you sir

You might still find someone that has the same boat (or at least the same dash layout... as sometimes that changes throughout the model run)... and maybe they've done a similar mod. But I know if this was me, I would just get my 'ol tape measure out :)

No reason why you can't look online to get a ballpark figure or an idea as to what will fit. Here's a picture of a 2001 Grady White 306 Bimini that's currently for sale on Boat Trader and it has two Garmin 10" screens. The first unit on the left looks like it's a Garmin EchoMap Ultra 2 10" Chartplotter and the one on the right looks like it's a Garmin GPS 1042xsv, just based off the pictures alone. The Garmin EchoMap Ultra 2 10" Chartplotter shows as having overall dimensions of 11.6" x 7.7" x 3.9" and the Garmin GPS 1042xsv shows as having overall dimensions of 12.5" x 7.3" x 2.7". Comparatively, the Garmin 1243xsv is showing as having overall dimensions of 12.1” x 8.9” x 3.2”. If your current setup is the same or similar to what is shown in the picture, I imagine you'd be able to squeeze two of the 1243xsv's in there without any problem, as it looks like you've got enough height in that picture as well as a little bit of extra room on the sides. I would grab some cardboard or a sheet of paper, cut them out to the size of the Garmin 1243xsv, then lay them both over the area and see if you have enough room that way. My guess is that you will, based off the attached picture and the overall dimensions of those two plotters on there, in that the current two plotters have a total width of 24.1", if my math is correct. Whereas dual Garmin 1243xsv's would only be 24.2", or only .1" wider, again if my math is correct. Good luck either way.

I have the same console with the open electronics compartment and the Bimini size look same to mine as the 2000 Bimini i checked out had the same setup is mine in the photo below.
Space is smaller than it appears but i have two Garmin 8412xsv and the Garmin GHC20 Autopilot between them.
This works good but two bigger MFD's will not fit if other gauges/display need to stay there, maybe two 14?.
I have to see soon how i place the new gauges for the new engines, again on the panel above the electronics box but thats rather far or to fit them between the two 8412.
At least for Garmin you can download the installation template what show you the size of the hole in the panel.
Instead of two MFD's you could use only one and then you have a lot of space for other gauges or electronics and save a substantial amount of $$$.
I haven't see behind the black panel as i bought the boat with all installed, but i suggest you to take the panel off to make sure if behind are some "ribs" where the instrument panel attaches to as the whole panel will become heavy. Also don't use a shiny black plastic as mine, you see already the reflections and with sun behind they become really annoying, use a black or dark gray instead, but matte.

Sorry for the shitty photo, but i have only that and i am too far from the boat to make a better one.

I believe you can go to the Garmin websight look up different displays go to the installation part and download the cutout diagram.
