Anyone have an opinion on moving the two batteries on a 222 from the stern to the console ?

I've read some blogs that say it makes a difference in the ride of the boat by getting weight out of the stern.

I don't think these hulls were ever designed for the weight of a 4-stroke.

Any opinions or pictures welcome.

moving weight around would have an effect, i couldn't say good or bad. a quick call or email to GW might give you some technical insight. at any rate, make sure you use the correct wire gauge when/if you do.

also, any other stored items in the stern would have an impact (box of sinkers, spare gas tank, etc). good luck, ron

I asked a similar question regarding my 225. It is stern heavy and I've considered moving my batteries to the bow. Even the console as you suggest would be better than the current location in the stern. See my post and subsequent comments under the Tips, Modifications, Electronics forum on this site.
